Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this digital era, cinemas and theaters have lost their some significance in society because the same movie and shows are now easily available on online platforms such as Prime Videos and Netflix. However, cinemas and theaters still have some financial and cultural significance in society. I agree that they still play a significant role in society because they provide employment and unique experience of cultural theater.
On one hand, the digital era has brought a major change in the entertainment industry by providing movies and shows on mobile screens. As a result now watching movie is more convenient for people and they enjoy their favorite content wherever they want. Platforms like Prime Videos and Netflix have a million audience because of their affordable subscription plans.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under-length, containing only 126 words against the required 250. Because the task is not completed, the development of ideas is severely limited. While you introduce both sides of the argument and state your opinion, the discussion is truncated. You mention economic and cultural significance but do not provide the necessary examples or depth required to fully address the prompt. To improve, you must expand each body paragraph with specific evidence, such as the impact of local cinema closures on small businesses or the unique social experience of attending a live performance, to meet the word count and demonstrate a full discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows a basic level of organization. You use simple cohesive devices like 'On one hand' and 'As a result' to link ideas, which helps the reader follow the flow. However, because the essay is incomplete, the overall structure is underdeveloped. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between the introduction and the body is abrupt. To achieve a higher band, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that you use a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect your arguments more fluidly throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. You use terms like 'digital era', 'entertainment industry', and 'subscription plans' correctly. However, there is some repetition and reliance on basic phrasing, such as 'lost their some significance' (which is grammatically awkward) and 'watching movie is more convenient'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to the cultural and economic impact of the arts, rather than relying on general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are noticeable errors that affect the quality of the writing. For example, 'lost their some significance' is incorrect, and 'have a million audience' should be 'have millions of viewers'. Additionally, 'unique experience of cultural theater' lacks an article. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to lower the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles to improve the accuracy of your sentences.
