Student answer (Band 5.5)
theaters are playing a very important role in entertainment industries. as it says that some people think that online movie or media platforms are decreasing the popularity of the theaters. I partially agree with this given statement.
to begin with the theaters are providing an important role in the movie industry. when the new movie realises the film maker first released in theaters not on the Ott platforms. the theaters hold the large area, where at list 120 people can sit and enjoy the movie at once. but sometimes the craze of the movie is so big that all of the box-office got full. for an example if any marvel movie is released then the box-office got houseful, to watch movie there is a waiting list.
on the contrary there is an Ott platform where people can watch their choice movie on whatever time they want to see. OTT platforms had some monthly and yearly charges to pay for enjoying the online movie. for an example in India there is so many online platforms for watching movies such as the amazon, jio-hotstar, prime videos, etc. the Ott platforms provide an extra features, where you can watch unlimited time rewatch the movie, you can also adjust the quality of the movie, language of the movie and other things too. there are also some piracy applications to watch and download the movie for free, but some times it contains the malware in it can damaged your software, leak your photos, also sometimes your phone got hacked.
conclusion: the movie theater are also important for the benefit of the people, it provides employment to the people, on the other hand OTT has its awn benefits, like easy to access, multiple choice in language and quality.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, though the position is somewhat underdeveloped. While you mention that you 'partially agree', the essay lacks a cohesive argument that synthesizes the economic and cultural importance of cinemas as requested by the prompt. The ideas regarding OTT platforms are relevant, but the discussion on the 'cultural' importance of cinemas is largely missing. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph directly addresses one of the two views mentioned in the prompt, providing more depth and specific examples that relate to the broader societal impact of these entertainment mediums.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the importance of theaters and the convenience of OTT platforms is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often repetitive or used incorrectly (e.g., 'to begin with', 'on the contrary'). Furthermore, the conclusion is labeled as such rather than being integrated into the text, and it merely summarizes points without providing a final, synthesized thought. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph flows naturally into the next, maintaining a clear focus on the central argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'the craze of the movie is so big' and 'the Ott platforms provide an extra features'. Additionally, there are some spelling and capitalization issues, such as 'realises' instead of 'releases' and 'awn' instead of 'own'. To improve, focus on learning collocations and more sophisticated academic vocabulary, and proofread carefully to eliminate basic spelling and grammatical errors that detract from the professional tone of the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'when the new movie realises the film maker first released in theaters not on the Ott platforms' and 'there is so many online platforms'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with frequent run-on sentences and missing commas. To improve, practice using a wider variety of complex grammatical structures, such as relative clauses and conditional sentences, and pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and article usage, which are currently inconsistent throughout the text.
