Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of online platforms versus the economic and social benefits of physical venues. However, some points are under-developed. For example, the economic argument could be strengthened by explaining how local businesses benefit beyond just mentioning them. The essay maintains a consistent position throughout, which is a strength. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully elaborated with specific examples or logical consequences to avoid a list-like structure.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disjointed, such as the sentence fragment 'form the economic perspective' and the awkward phrasing in the second paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'technological age,' 'recreation,' and 'cultural significance.' However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'fun activities' (instead of 'entertainment'), 'purchased expensive tickets' (grammatically incorrect), and 'choses' (spelling error for 'choices'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision and occasional spelling mistakes prevent the vocabulary from being considered 'sufficiently flexible.' Expanding your range of topic-specific collocations would help improve this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('theatres and cinemas are also play'), incorrect verb forms ('requires travelling and purchased'), and punctuation/capitalization errors ('i believe'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with correct tense consistency.
