Student answer (Band 5.5)
In my opinion, it is true that theatres and cinemas are the greatest threat in coming years as technology is updating day by day. It has both advantages and disadvantages. These are the places where people relax and spent their time by watching their favourite movies.
I, am completely agree with this stance that cinemas are no longer important because now days people used their equipment such as mobile phones, laptops, smart TV and tabs for their entertainment because they can easily watch the shows, films and comedy online. The Netflix also attract the audiences towards and they can easily watch by sitting in the bedroom and enjoy their coffee while watching. It also increase the subscription of Netflix and Youtube. However, social media is updating and people enjoy. They get anything by searching on the internet.
There are also many drawbacks of using too much internet and it is declining the trend of theatre and cinemas. It is decreasing the sales of cinemas and many cinemas are facing difficulties. But in some countries are still important for economically and they will enhance the culture by watching their traditional movies. Now, the trend of visiting theatre is falling and many theatres are shut down due to no people
At the end, it has many benefits. The digital technology is rapidly raising and people are using it, it will increase the trend of watching and working online instead of going to anywhere. In future it will grow up while falling off.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development is inconsistent. While you mention that cinemas are a threat to traditional venues, the argument lacks depth and specific examples. The discussion on economic and cultural importance is brief and somewhat vague, particularly the phrase 'in some countries are still important for economically'. The conclusion is repetitive and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, ensure each body paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed point with clear supporting evidence rather than listing general observations. The position is clear, but the supporting ideas need more logical expansion to meet higher band requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by disjointed sentences. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However' and 'At the end', but they are often applied mechanically or inappropriately. For instance, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final paragraph where 'it' is used repeatedly without a clear antecedent. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence follows logically from the previous one to create a smoother progression of ideas throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'important', 'watching', and 'things'. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'theatres and cinemas are the greatest threat' (when you likely meant they are under threat) and 'the digital technology is rapidly raising'. Some phrases are unidiomatic, such as 'falling off' at the end of the essay. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise, academic vocabulary and collocations. Focus on learning synonyms for common words and practicing how to use them in context to express your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('people used their equipment', 'Netflix also attract'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors in complex structures, such as 'I, am completely agree with this stance'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction, verb tenses, and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
