From my perspective, theatres and cinemas are not important because watching movies and shows online is budget-friendly and time-saving.
To begin with, people who think cinemas and theatres are not significant claim that they can watch all the entertainment from comfortable space and also save money. To elaborate it, people find digital media convenient because individuals from any background either rich or middle can watch movies in a very low cost compared to watching movies in cinemas, and theatres. For example, if people have access to all kind of entertainment on digital media in a very low cost, they will not find it necessary to go to cinemas and spend money on tickets and transport. In addition, watching entertainment on social media also provide flexibility in terms of time, people can watch it when they are free. Moreover, people who argue that cinema and theatres are still important both economically and culturally highlight that watching movies in cinemas and theatres allow people to buy ticket and communicate with different people. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding cost-effectiveness is repeated multiple times in the first body paragraph. The conclusion is incomplete, which prevents a full summary of the position. While the prompt is addressed, the lack of a finished conclusion and the tendency to over-generalize in the supporting arguments limit the depth of the response. To improve, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point and always complete your final summary.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'In addition' are used to link sentences. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'To elaborate it' and 'To explain it'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the abrupt ending of the essay negatively impacts the overall flow and structure. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring a complete, cohesive conclusion would raise this score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, though it lacks sophistication. There are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'digital area' (should be 'digital age') and 'in a extremely less budget' (should be 'on an extremely limited budget'). The repetition of phrases like 'watching movies and shows' and 'cinemas and theatres' suggests a limited range. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise synonyms and collocations, such as 'cinematic experience' or 'economic contribution', rather than repeating basic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('watching theatre help' instead of 'helps') and article usage ('the economy growth' instead of 'economic growth'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some unnecessary commas and missing ones. While these errors do not typically impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and refining the use of complex sentence structures will help improve your score.
