Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individuals claim that due to recent emergence of technology, theatres and cinemas are not as relevant, as everything is accessible cheaply on OTT platforms. While other suggest that they still carry huge significance in terms of social experience of people alongwith its financial importance. I agree with second opinion, as cinema and theatres are exclusive experiences, than just a way of cheap content consumption.
Some people have the opinion that due to availability of platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime, cinemas are no longer as prominent. People can use them to watch their favourite movies, and seasons, from comfort of their home, paying a fraction of what they would spend for a cinema ticket. It is more convenient for them as well. I strongly disagree with this view, as cinema bring its own unique expeirence. Although it is cheaper and easier to watch your favourite content of Netflix, People still prefer to watch their favourite movies in cinema. Just like people used to prefer cinemas, before OTT platforms, despite the availability of DVDs at that time. Suggesting it is a different neche, rather than a replacement.
Other people have the opinion that they are still important, due to some cultural value that is associated with cinemas. It also provide the revenue back to film industry, making it viable to make movies in the first place. As majority of revenue for Entertainment industry comes from cinema's revenue. I agree with this opinion, as people prefer cinema, due to the immense experience it provide. For example, spending on cinema has only increased in past few years in Bollywood, despite those movies available on Netflix. Hence cinema still play a key role for Entertainment industry.
We can conclude that despite the digital age, and the OTT platform's availability. People still occasionally prefer to visit cinema and theatre, due the experience it provide. It will continue to be the backbone of Entertainment industry.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. While you mention economic and cultural importance, the arguments rely heavily on the concept of 'experience' without exploring the economic aspect in sufficient depth. The introduction is a bit informal, and the conclusion is brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each body paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating the same idea about 'experience' multiple times. The position is consistent, but the supporting evidence could be more varied and analytical.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Although', 'For example', and 'Hence', but the flow is occasionally mechanical. Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt, and the referencing is sometimes unclear (e.g., 'I agree with second opinion'). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents to improve the overall flow of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'OTT platforms' and 'viable', but there is also repetition of basic words such as 'important', 'experience', and 'movies'. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'neche' (niche) and 'alongwith'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to the film industry, such as 'cinematic immersion', 'revenue streams', or 'cultural significance', while ensuring accurate spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' is often missing, e.g., 'in past few years'), subject-verb agreement ('It also provide'), and punctuation. Some sentences are fragmented or lack proper structure, such as 'While other suggest that they still carry huge significance...'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and article usage to improve your accuracy.
