Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is argued by some people that is the digital era, theatres and cinemas have lost people's attention as all the content is easily available online. while the others say that theatres and cinemas are still needed economically and culturally. In my opinion, theatre's and cinema's importance could not be denied due to several reasons and they are still required in a society.
In the current, technologically exceptional era we are eligible to get all means of entertainments on few clicks. There are several channels and paid applications that provide us latest launched movies and theatre plays, as soon as they launch. Some even do live broadcast. Therefore, individuals find it more convenient to not leave their house and save time and transport cost. Community do not even need to stick to local movies or plays but there are variety of international channels available.
On the other hand, if theatres and cinemas will stop working a lot of people associated with this industry will suffer. From light man , cleaner to actor they will struggle to earn their bread. A country's culture is represented by theatres and tourist get to know the history and culture of a place through theaters and cinemas as well. In addition, the new generation will also be unaware of their culture. Theaters develop actors, if there will be no theatres actors will have no place to refine their acting skills as for most actors it is the first place to show their talent.
In conclusion, although the communities and cherish the facility of having online content but theatres and cinemas are still important for the people who are associated with this industry and revive a country's culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the economic and cultural arguments are relevant, the explanation of how theatres 'develop actors' is a bit brief. The essay covers all parts of the prompt, but the depth of analysis could be improved to reach a higher band. The position is consistent throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, though it could have been more explicitly linked to the initial arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In the current', 'On the other hand', and 'In addition', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the abrupt start to the second paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two opposing views, which aids the overall readability of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common collocations, such as 'technologically exceptional era' and 'refine their acting skills'. However, there are some awkward phrasings like 'eligible to get all means of entertainments' and 'light man', which are not standard English. The range is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, but more precise and sophisticated vocabulary would be needed for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'It is argued by some people that is the digital era' (missing preposition), 'theatre's and cinema's' (incorrect use of possessive apostrophes), and 'tourist get' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with commas. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the writing.
