Student answer (Band 6.0)
According to my opinion, i go with 1st statment i.e cinemas and theatres are not as much important now, because every thing related to entertainment is available online.
In this digital age, cinemas and theatres are not get that much attention likewise earlier. One of the reason is that, peoples are so much busy in there daily life so they do not get as much time to go outside and buy such expensive tickets for single show. Now they have some online apps and platform from where they can watch there favourite movies, seasons, dramas and shows etc just free of cost. Also some apps requires fee for there subscription and give there apps premium features. So that peoples can watch everything online in better quality as well. For example in my case, i have been working in a office so i did not have much time to go outside even on weekends, so i usually plan to watch my favourite shows in break time with my fellow colleages.
On the other hand, cinemas and theatres are still usefull in some cases such as when a new movie released and peoples liked that so much that they cannot even wait for it to release online. In this case peoples can go outside and watched. Likewise on some ocasions such as public holiday or any ritual event etc, people can make plan and take there families, friends or relatives outside in order to spend some quality time with them, so cinemas and theatres were good option.
From these point of views, i concluded that yes in this modern and digital age, the importance of cinemas and theatres are getting lesser with the passage of time, because of smart phones, laptops and LCDs.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the convenience of online platforms and the social aspect of cinemas, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence. For instance, the example provided about your office work is personal but does not fully explore the broader economic or cultural implications mentioned in the prompt. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph fully explores the 'why' and 'how' behind your points, rather than just stating them. The conclusion is clear, but the overall response would benefit from more sophisticated analysis of the cultural and economic factors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'On the other hand' and 'For example'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there is a lack of variety in linking words. Some transitions feel abrupt, and the referencing (e.g., 'there' instead of 'their') occasionally makes the logical connection between ideas slightly confusing. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more fluid and natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite repetitive and lacks precision. You frequently use basic terms like 'things', 'good', and 'go outside'. There are also several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'statment', 'peoples' (used incorrectly as a plural of person), and 'ritual event' (which is likely meant to be 'special occasion'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to the entertainment industry, such as 'streaming services', 'cinematic experience', 'cultural significance', or 'economic viability', and ensure you are using words in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'cinemas and theatres are not get'), incorrect pronoun usage (e.g., 'there' instead of 'their'), and tense inconsistencies (e.g., 'cinemas and theatres were good option'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors would significantly improve your score.
