Student answer (Band 5.0)
Theatres and cinemas are important for some people economically and culturally but there has been a debate between some people that in the digital age, theaters and cinemas are no longer important. due to these factors that people can watch all the entertainment online.
before the digital age theaters were very popular among all the individuals. going to the cinemas with all the friends and watch a movie was a weekend entertainment. but after the digital age people now prefer watching movies and vlogs on their phones, laptops and tabs. going to the theater or cinemas considered as a waste of money. watching movie in cinema or theater can benefit the country economically. people buy tickets and the company pays the tax to the country.
in the digital age when every single individual has their own smart phone is threat to the young generation. Because of the adult websites are very common now a days. that's why the older generation always argues that the digital entertainment is not culturally correct.
In my perspective, both things are equally important. going to the theater and cinemas with your friends and family is another level of entertainment for some people. but today when life gets very busy for students and also for adults because of the daily life tasks. it is also a privilege for us that we can access any good kind of entertainment on our smart phones.
To make a save environment for the young generation parents should keep an eye on their children's phones so they are not misusing the digital media.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. For instance, the economic argument is mentioned briefly, and the cultural argument shifts abruptly to a discussion about internet safety for children, which is not directly relevant to the importance of cinemas. The ideas are often asserted rather than fully explained or supported with concrete examples. To improve, you should focus on expanding your arguments with clear explanations and specific evidence, ensuring that every paragraph directly supports the prompt's focus on the economic and cultural significance of physical venues.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is weak. Transitions are often missing or mechanical, such as the abrupt shift in the third paragraph regarding 'adult websites'. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes inaccurate, which makes the flow of the argument feel disjointed. To improve, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') to connect your sentences and paragraphs more smoothly. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that relates directly to the main argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. You rely on simple phrases like 'important', 'good kind of entertainment', and 'waste of money'. There is little attempt to use less common or academic vocabulary. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'culturally correct' or 'make a save environment'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to media, economics, and culture, and work on using collocations more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'going to the theater'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'watch a movie was'), and sentence fragments (e.g., 'due to these factors that...'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several sentences starting with lowercase letters or lacking proper structure. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
