Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the digital era, when almost everything is available online, some people question the relevence of traditional venues such as theatres and cinemas. While, others have a view that these venues are still significant as they contribute economically and culturally. In this regard, I believe that despite of easy access to entertainment, theaters and cineamas are still inevitable due to their support to culture and economy.
On the other hand, digital media has changed the whole entertainment medium. People can now access entertainment anywhere, at any time according to their ease. Another advantage of online straming is that it is budget friendly. People don't need to spend money in terms of buying tickets, parking, accommodation as just 1 subscription unlock a wide range of entertainment at a fraction of money they spent on buying tickets for cinema. Similarly, this facility is especially favourable for those who live far away from cinema houses and are keen of cinema.
Nevertheless, despite all the advantages, the traditional venues are still irreplaceable. First of all, traditional medium offer a strong communal interaction especially in case of theaters where artists perform live in front of the audiance. Audiance from different communities interact with each other that promotes cultural diversity. Similarly, cineams provide the specific environment that a movie or show demands. Sound effects, and especially 3D theaters allow people to experience the exact crux of the entertainment being presented.
Moreover, these venues not only support cultural diversity but also contribute to the economy as these are a source of income for many artists.
To conclude, although online streaming is a accessible and convenient source of entertainment for many, I believe that traditional venues are still crucial as they serve as a cornerblock for the cultural and economic growth of a society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the decline of traditional venues and their continued importance. You clearly state your opinion in the introduction and maintain it throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant, such as the communal aspect of theatre and the economic benefits. However, some points could be developed further; for instance, the economic argument is mentioned briefly in the final body paragraph but lacks specific examples or deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, ensure that every main idea is supported by a concrete example or a more detailed explanation to fully flesh out your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand,' 'Nevertheless,' and 'Moreover' to guide the reader through your arguments. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. However, there are minor issues with cohesion, such as the slightly awkward transition 'While, others have a view' in the introduction. Additionally, some referencing is a bit repetitive. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the structure supports the development of your argument effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'digital era,' 'communal interaction,' and 'cultural diversity.' There are some spelling errors, such as 'relevence,' 'straming,' 'cineamas,' and 'audiance,' which occasionally distract the reader. Furthermore, some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'keen of cinema' instead of 'keen on cinema' or 'cornerblock' instead of 'cornerstone.' While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on accurate spelling and more precise collocations will improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'Although online streaming is an accessible and convenient source... I believe that traditional venues are still crucial.' There are several grammatical errors, including 'despite of' (should be 'despite' or 'in spite of') and 'a accessible' (should be 'an accessible'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are some comma errors, such as 'While, others have a view.' The errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not cause difficulty for the reader. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring accuracy would help elevate your score.
