Some people say that in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. Others argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally.

Student answer (Band 6.0)
Cinemas and theatres were considered an entertaining time for the people. Watching new movies and dramas with an audiance gives you an unmatched experience compared to watching it online. The interest of people changes realtive of time, if we talk about millennials, cinemeas were an great entetainment for them because techonolgy did not had a strong grip back then.
Adding to it, in digital age or we call it the Gen-z era, most of the people do prefer watching entertainig content on their phones and TVs, as it is said that technology have aparted people from each other and another reason is watching any movie online is free or less expensive rather than cinema. But in my opinion the only difference occur here is about the experience you get while watching the movie. For instance: there are 4K cinemas or 3D cinemas that gives you a more realistic experience of the movie compared to a normal phone screen. Another example of the experience is IMAX cinemas which are only 40 in the whole world, these cinemas give you a more realistic experience as you are a part of the movie. You can feel the movements and things happening in the movie.
However, introvert people who like to be alone and the people who cannot afford the cinema expenses like to watch movies online. Another reason is that cinemas are very crowded when a new movie is released. And when a new movie is released, some people can not wait to see the movie so they just watch movie online.
In conclusion, both sides have the reasonable arguements. It really depends on the persons personal preference and choice. Experience matters to some people and privacy matters to some so they both have reasonable things for their own choice.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention economic and cultural importance in the prompt, your essay focuses almost exclusively on the 'experience' of watching movies versus convenience. The points regarding economic impact are largely ignored. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that all aspects of the prompt—specifically the economic and cultural significance—are explored with more depth and specific examples. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and lacks a strong summary of the main points discussed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Adding to it,' 'For instance,' and 'However,' but these are sometimes used in a slightly mechanical or repetitive way. The transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. For example, the shift from discussing 3D cinemas to the needs of introverts is a bit abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the flow and logical progression of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your ideas, such as 'unmatched experience,' 'realistic,' and 'personal preference.' However, there are several spelling errors ('audiance,' 'realtive,' 'entetainment,' 'techonolgy,' 'arguements') and some awkward phrasing ('technology have aparted people,' 'entertaining time for the people'). These errors do not generally impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on mastering the spelling of common academic terms and using collocations more naturally, such as 'technological advancements' instead of 'technology had a strong grip.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('technology did not had,' 'technology have aparted,' 'difference occur') and incorrect word forms ('introvert people' instead of 'introverted people'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences and minor errors in article usage. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate more consistent control over complex structures and reduce the frequency of basic grammatical slips.
