Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding economic benefits is quite general, mentioning 'funds' and 'charity' without explaining the broader economic impact or the cultural significance in depth. The response covers all parts of the prompt, but the supporting points are underdeveloped, leading to a repetitive structure. To improve, you should provide more specific examples or deeper analysis for each viewpoint to ensure the ideas are fully extended rather than just stated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'is because' in the third paragraph is grammatically awkward and does not effectively link the ideas. Additionally, some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. While the overall progression is clear, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the occasional misuse of referencing (e.g., 'considerable persons dive to this') hinder the flow. Improving the variety and precision of your cohesive devices would significantly enhance the readability of your work.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'paradigm shift', 'technological advancement', and 'contemporary society'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'absolete' (obsolete), 'pastime amusement', and 'considerable persons dive to this'. These errors occasionally cause the reader to pause, though they do not fully impede communication. To reach a higher band, focus on using vocabulary more accurately and ensuring that collocations sound natural in an academic context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('The advent of technology as lead to'), punctuation errors (unnecessary spaces before commas), and awkward phrasing ('living standards of people in the community are be enhanced true theatres'). While the meaning remains generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring correct verb forms in passive constructions.
