Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many individuals believe that the film halls and cinemas are not worthwhile as many individuals can see online. Other argue that, cinemas and filmhalls are still effective both financially and culturally.
On the one hand, in today's generation digital platform has been more advanced than the ancient period. Nowadays, many people are busy in their personal and professional life as they can do whatever they want according to their convenience. However, people do not get much time to go to watch movies in threatres so they can watch whatever they want in digital platforn such as, instagram, youtube, facebook, netflix and manymore. For instance, sometime I do not get time to go film halls to watch cinemas at that time I watch whatever I want digitally and it is more comforting because we do not have to go outside.
On the other hand, it is also beneficial to have cinemas and theatres in today's world because it hepls economically and it protect our culture because it is very important to save our culture. Moreover, film halls and theatres are valuable assets where they help country financially after having profit and it should be sustainable. Furthermore, many tourist visit to see the historical places as theatres and cinemas are also considered as historical places so they plays a vital role to protect the culture and to increase more tourist within the country.
In conclusion, I believe that digital age, like theatres and cinemas are valuable for both economic and cultural sector as they grow tourist and it will automatically help in financial growth of the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, though the development is somewhat superficial. You identify the convenience of digital platforms and the cultural/economic value of cinemas, but the arguments lack depth. For instance, the claim that cinemas are 'historical places' is a generalization that isn't fully supported with specific examples or logical reasoning. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure that each point is supported by a clear explanation or a concrete example that directly relates to the prompt's focus on economic and cultural significance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'Moreover' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'it' in the conclusion refers back to multiple concepts, making the sentence slightly confusing). To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one without relying on repetitive structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'film halls and cinemas' and 'watch whatever they want.' There are also some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'ancient period' to describe the past, which is not contextually appropriate. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to the entertainment industry, such as 'cinematic experience,' 'cultural heritage,' or 'revenue generation,' rather than repeating basic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede readability. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('cinemas... is still effective'), missing articles ('help country'), and awkward phrasing ('many tourist visit'). While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization, article usage, and sentence construction, to ensure your ideas are presented with greater clarity and professionalism.
