Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, Some individuals argue that in the digital era, theatres and movie houses have become obsolete due to online entertainment. Others believe that playhouses and film halls are vital for both economically and culturally. It is widely believed that this issue has become significantly risen in all around the world. I agree with that it plays a crucial role in sustainable development. This essay will discuss both perspective.
On the one hand, in technological world, stage venues are not necessary. This is owing to the internet and social media development, and they offers a plethora of mass media. Numerous opportunities are available for people, they pass their time through streaming distinct online platforms. For instance, the public can watch new shows, movies, and dramas on their gadgets from any location, they do not need to travel to the traditional venues. This is an extremely convenient and an easy to use. In addition, this is a beneficial tool for introverts, without disturbing the routine or habit they can avail this opportunity from the couch of their home.
On the other hand, performing arts centers and cinemas are advantageable for economic situation and customs. They creates employment prospects which helps the economy and citizens lifestyle. Moreover, they provides knowledge in accordance with ethical and aesthetic behavior. Such as a substantial amount of public view history based seasons and pictures.
In conclusion, although live performance and film screening will be diminish in the future, However, I strongly believe that these traditional places have significant positive impacts on society and government authorities need to focus on this side for development and creating number of openings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the economic and cultural benefits of theatres are mentioned but not sufficiently explained or supported with concrete examples, remaining quite general. The introduction is slightly repetitive, and the conclusion introduces a new idea about government involvement that was not previously discussed. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that each main point is supported by a clear, specific example or a more detailed explanation of the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In addition.' However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by grammatical errors, such as the awkward phrasing in the introduction. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall readability and logical flow of the arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'obsolete,' 'plethora,' and 'sustainable development.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'movie houses' (cinemas is more standard), 'advantageable' (not a standard word), and 'history based seasons' (likely meaning historical dramas). While these errors do not impede communication, they show a lack of precision. To improve, focus on learning the correct collocations for academic writing and avoid inventing words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('they offers,' 'they creates,' 'they provides') and incorrect prepositional usage ('in all around the world'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma splices and the misuse of capitalization in the first sentence. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic grammatical rules, particularly regarding verb endings and sentence boundaries.
