Student answer (Band 4.5)

nowdays, due to incresing in tecnlogy the carze of going cinemas was decresing day by day. some argued that it is not important and some are argued it is still imporant for economically and culturally. i shed some light on both satetment and find it is less important for whch vindication would be elobrate in upcoming paragraph.

to start with, there are many reason associated with it. first and formost is save money.to explain this, in todays the fesilities of all type moive and seriers in phon and other social platefoms . so, going to cinemas and thearters is less important also we can save money of buying ticket and enjoy more at home. moreover, save time and comfort. the justify this, when we are at home we are in more comfort then outside.because we can do whatever we want at home .while, in out side of home we have to maintain over manners .however we can also save our time .

on the other side , in the opioin of second statement . the point is economy and culture. to elobrate it, like when we go cinema and theatres so we gain more knowing about past how pepols are live and go theaters to watch movies when we not had mobilephones and other paltfoms of social media . Addittionaly it asl benefical of economy like when we went to cinemas so the tourims are also attracted to that and go there and due to that it helps to boots economy.

to conclude, althought the numerous point going cinemas is helped in boots economy and in culture but it also often to spend money and time unnessery .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views (the decline of theatres in the digital age versus their ongoing cultural and economic importance) and provides the writer's own opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the ideas are relatively limited and under-developed, relying on simplistic arguments such as saving money and staying comfortable at home. The reasoning is somewhat repetitive, and the student tends to over-generalise points without deep elaboration. This performance aligns best with the Band 5 descriptors, as the task is addressed, but the development of ideas remains restricted and lacks sufficient depth.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text is organised into paragraphs, featuring standard introductory and concluding remarks alongside body paragraphs for each viewpoint. However, the overall progression is heavily disrupted by poor cohesive devices, mechanical transitions (such as 'to start with, there are many reason associated with it'), and highly faulty referencing. Sentences often feel disjointed, and paragraphs lack smooth internal flow. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or used in a repetitive manner. These characteristics fit the Band 4 descriptor well, where information and ideas are not arranged coherently enough to ensure smooth reading.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used throughout the essay is basic, repetitive, and plagued by severe spelling errors (e.g., 'nowdays', 'incresing', 'tecnlogy', 'carze', 'decresing', 'imporant', 'moive', 'seriers', 'platefoms', 'paltfoms', 'Addittionaly'). The writer attempts to use some less common words like 'vindication', 'elobrate', and 'tourims', but frequent misuse and intense spelling strain the reader's understanding. This level of lexical control and error frequency is indicative of Band 4, where basic vocabulary and frequent errors consistently impede fluent communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response features a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex or multi-clause sentences are consistently faulty (e.g., 'when we go cinema and theatres so we gain more knowing about past how pepols are live'). Punctuation is largely neglected or misused, and basic subject-verb agreement and word-form errors are pervasive ('fesilities', 'in out side of home we have to maintain over manners'). Errors are extremely frequent and often distort the intended meaning, matching the criteria for Band 4 where simple sentence forms are inaccurate and complex structures fail.
