Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is a conflict in both of the matters. Some people assume that the digital age, cinemas and theatres are no longer necessary now because the people can watch all these kind of things online at home without going anywhere.Whereas there are also many people who believe that theatres and cinemas are still necessary in the both economically and culturally.

According to me,i think that the theatres and cinemas are good and entertaining for the people becouse they are the kind of refreshment and enjoyment for them. They can go there to have fun with there families and friends. Moreover, with these places there might be a opportunity for a number of jobs for the citizens who are worried about their financial condition. Many people can do jobs in theatres and cinemas, and earn to support their family.

Once a time,i have gone to cinema with my friends when i was 16 years old in 12 class. We went to a cinema out of city to enjoy the movie. It was about 30 minutes far from my home.My one friend arrived my home to pick me on hus bike.I went with him and our more friends met us on the way.We enjoyed the journey and reached the cinema safely. Then the movies has started it was a funny punjabi movie. We enjoyd the popcorns as well as the moive.Ith was a memorable day for me.

At the end i think that these places are usually important and necessary for the citizens for entertainment and enjoyment. These are the places where we can go on weekends with our friends to get rid of our daily grind and get peace with our friends,Not only with the friends we can also go there with our families because with family the taste of pleasure get more.So i thint these places are necessary not only for us but as well as economically and culturally.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on the digital age versus theatres and cinemas, and provides a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, noting economic benefits and personal refreshment, although some points like the personal anecdote are somewhat anecdotal and limited in formal academic depth. The position is maintained throughout, and the main arguments are extended, fitting the Band 6 descriptor well where all parts are addressed though some ideas are slightly under-developed or colloquial in execution.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is attempted, though some paragraphs mix distinct ideas, such as moving abruptly into a personal anecdote. Cohesive devices are used, but sometimes mechanically or awkwardly, as seen with phrases like "Once a time,i have gone..." and "At the end i think...". Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression between sentences can be disjointed, placing this performance at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating ideas about entertainment, employment, and social gatherings. However, there are numerous issues with word choice, spelling, and collocation, such as "becouse", "moive", and "the taste of pleasure get more". Attempts to use less common vocabulary are often inaccurate or informal, which limits the score to Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, including punctuation mistakes, missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and tense inconsistencies (e.g., "Once a time,i have gone... in 12 class"). Capitalisation rules are frequently ignored for the pronoun 'i'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they cause noticeable strain for the reader, aligning with Band 5.0 descriptors.
