Student answer (Band 5.0)

The debate of that in digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online while on the other hand many of them also think that theatres and cinemas are essentials for cultural privelege so as economically.

Since the world is adapting digital ways too fast in every factor which makes a great impact on the society to rely on digital things. whereas in some of them many are those who values there cultural more on bieng rely on digital. Cinema and theatres are not only the fields but it is been like a tradition for many years which holds legacy.

In my opinion if we will reduce cinema and theatres in our society then we will have more disadvantages. For example if cinemas and theatres shut down completely then we will have more isolations in society which leads to mentals distress eventually. Moreover the impact of this will aslo be on our history because these industries are the pioneers of media which gives our new generation that what they are seeing today was not as simple before.

Despite of all facts digital age is seem to be very comfortable and cost effective. But on the other hand it comes with great number of difficulties which can alter our health and human behaviour too.

In my experience I have seen many patients those are coming with complain of migraine, musculoskeletal issues and mainly with weak sightness. when I took there history they all have hgiher screen times a day.

We shall focus on having theatres and cinemas in our society because it has significant important in our historical and cultural aspect.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—the perspective that digital platforms replace physical venues and the counter-argument emphasizing economic and cultural importance—while also providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding isolation and mental distress is introduced in the third paragraph, but it is not fully elaborated with concrete examples related specifically to cinema or theatre goers. Similarly, the conclusion touches upon historical and cultural aspects without deep expansion. The position is stated, though somewhat loosely articulated through the text. Overall, the response meets the core requirements of addressing the prompt, aligning with a Band 5.5 descriptor.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays an attempt at organisation with paragraphs breaking down distinct points, such as digital adoption, counter-arguments, personal experience, and a concluding thought. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and poor sentence structures (e.g., 'Since the world is adapting digital ways too fast...'). Cohesive devices are used mechanically or inaccurately, such as 'whereas in some of them many are those who...' which impedes smooth reading. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'them' and 'this'. This reflects the characteristics of a Band 5 score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and frequently repetitive, relying heavily on words like 'digital', 'theatres', 'cinemas', and 'society'. There are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors throughout the response, such as 'cultural privelege', 'bieng rely on digital', 'weak sightness', and 'significant important'. Spelling errors also occur, including 'privelege', 'bieng', 'aslo', and 'hgiher'. While the topic is understandable, these persistent lexical inaccuracies and the restricted vocabulary base prevent the response from achieving a higher band, placing it firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most complex sentence attempts are flawed and poorly constructed, such as 'The debate of that in digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important...' and '...gives our new generation that what they are seeing today was not as simple before.' Frequent grammatical errors, incorrect prepositions, tense inconsistencies, and faulty subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many patients those are coming with complain', 'when I took there history they all have hgiher screen times') cause significant difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning in places. Control of basic sentence forms is weak, aligning with Band 4.5 descriptors.
