Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people say that in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. others argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally.
- After the rapid growth of Online streaming services, theatres and cinemas have becomes less convenient, especially when it come to money and time, which I agree with to some extent, since there is a caveat here: cinemas and theatres don't only offer the media that is being consumed but rather a whole experience that can't be repeated at home.
First, the creation of online streaming services changed the entertainment industry forever, it made films and tv series more accessible than ever, you can watch any movie you want with a click of a button, moreover, it provides the accessibility with really affordable subscription prices, for exemple a one month netflix subscription with family plan only costs ten dollars for one ticket there and when you go out with your family you it could cost you between 16 to 48 dollars just for a one film or play.
- On the other hand cinemas and theatres provide a large economical value because these industries create many job positions and also attract burists since it given special experience whether you're watching a movie with a large high quality displays and speakers and special effects or watching people acting in person, the streaming service can't provide these experiences and on history cultural aspect classical plays
and long standing writing tridition and styles helps preserve the culture and keep it alive among younger generation.
In conclusion, although streaming services can more conenient for the average person to consume media, theatres and cinemas help create jobs give a unique cocperience and preserve the culture; therefore, they shouldn't be replaced completely.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views (the decline of physical venues due to online streaming versus their enduring economic and cultural importance) and clearly states a personal position in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are relevant and extended, such as the comparison of subscription costs versus family cinema outings and the discussion of job creation and cultural preservation. However, some arguments lack deeper development and suffer from minor organizational tangents, which places this performance firmly at Band 6.0. The writer successfully covers the required prompts, but further elaboration on the cultural aspects would elevate the task response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. The writer attempts to use cohesive devices and transition signals such as 'First', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, paragraphing and sentence boundaries are sometimes faulty, seen in the awkward bullet-point styling and run-on sentences like 'First, the creation of online streaming services changed the entertainment industry forever, it made films and tv series more accessible than ever...'. Referencing and logical progression are occasionally hindered by punctuation lapses and abrupt shifts between ideas. Therefore, a Band 6.0 is appropriate as cohesion can be mechanical and faulty at times.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'accessible', 'subscription', 'preserves the culture', and 'economical value'. However, there are notable word choice and spelling inaccuracies, such as 'burists' instead of tourists, 'tridition' instead of tradition, and 'cocperience' instead of experience. Additionally, collocation and phrasing show some awkwardness, such as 'gives special experience' and 'on history cultural aspect'. These errors do not impede communication, allowing the student to achieve a Band 6.0 under the lexical resource criteria.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and subordinate structures. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several run-on sentences and comma splices, such as '...changed the entertainment industry forever, it made films and tv series more accessible than ever, you can watch any movie you want...' Minor errors in articles, prepositions, and verb forms also appear frequently, for instance, 'theatres and cinemas have becomes less convenient'. While these errors do not completely obscure meaning, they occur frequently enough to prevent the writing from reaching Band 7.0, making Band 6.0 an accurate reflection of grammatical control.
