Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response discusses both views regarding the importance of digital streaming versus traditional theatres and cinemas, and touches upon an opinion regarding the shared atmosphere of cinemas. However, the task achievement is heavily impacted by two major issues: first, the response fails to meet the minimum word count of 250 words, stopping at only 230 words as noted in the length check; second, the ideas remain quite limited and under-developed, lacking deep exploration of the economic and cultural aspects mentioned in the prompt. While a position is presented in the final paragraph, the lack of sufficient length and depth restricts the score. This corresponds to a Band 5 performance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay uses basic paragraphing to separate the introduction, the two contrasting views, and the conclusion. However, the logical progression is weak and the overall arrangement feels disjointed. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, with awkward transitions like 'because of these current digital era' and incorrect formatting where sentences begin with lowercase letters and have erratic spacing around punctuation marks. Paragraphing is attempted, but referencing and logical flow between sentences often break down, resulting in a Band 5 performance under coherence and cohesion descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student attempts to use some topic-related vocabulary such as 'subscriptions', 'streaming video', and 'discount on tickets', but the lexical range is severely limited and repetitive. There are frequent word-formation and spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'celebrates' instead of 'celebrities', 'pelteforms' instead of 'platforms', 'consumes' instead of 'consume', 'cimnas' instead of 'cinemas', and 'plane' instead of 'plan'. These noticeable errors and restricted vocabulary place the essay firmly in the Band 5 category for lexical resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the text. The student relies heavily on simple sentences and makes frequent basic errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('everyone have', 'people belive's'), incorrect prepositions ('access of internet', 'watching movie on cimnas'), and run-on structures linked improperly with commas instead of full stops. Complex structures are attempted but are almost always faulty, such as 'when you are watch the movie with same taste of audience , it feel more excitement'. Frequent errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader, aligning with Band 5.
