Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the recent times, it is now conveniet for people to consume any kind of enterainment on internet anytime, but many individuals still debate on the importantace of theaters and cinemas by saying that these both things are crucial for economy and culture.

In the past, when there were no internet available peoples source of entertainment was going to ttheater to watch a drama or show. In that time movies were also available to watch in the cinemas. Due to this factor, people used to go in these both places with their family and friends. This also has contributed to the economy because people will have to buy a ticket to watch a drama or a film. This method was also culturally accepted in the past because everyone used to watch one film together so there were fewer chances where minors were exposed to sensative content.

Moving forward to recent time. Today when tecnology is extremely advance every individual has their own smart device from which they can access any movie or drama on just one click. peoples just have to pay for an internet bill and they can watch any kind of content what they prefer to watch. This can also be a problem for the society because young generation is on high risk of getting expose to sensative content.

From my prespective, it is great that were are getting evolved with time. Because it is now easier for people to watch their preferred content whenever they want to. Also many individuals don't prefer going out to cinemas or to theatres so, it is easier for them also to watch their liking in their comfort zone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views regarding the importance of theatres and cinemas in the digital age versus their economic and cultural significance in the past, and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant and attempt to cover all parts of the prompt. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat superficial and lacks extension with robust examples. For instance, the discussion on the economic impact is limited to the statement that people bought tickets, without further elaboration. Similarly, the personal view is briefly stated without deeper exploration. This positions the task achievement within the Band 5 to 6 range, as it addresses all parts of the task but tends to under-develop certain arguments and relies on generalisations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four distinct paragraphs, indicating an attempt at structural organisation. There is a general progression of ideas moving from past context to modern times and finally to a personal perspective. However, cohesion is frequently faulty and mechanical. The transitions between paragraphs, such as 'Moving forward to recent time' and 'From my prespective, it is great that were are getting evolved with time', feel awkward and unnatural. Referencing and cohesive devices are limited, and some sentences lack logical linking. Paragraphing is also used minimally to separate ideas. These characteristics align closely with a Band 5 descriptor, where organisation is present, but overall progression is hindered by inadequate or inaccurate cohesive devices.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching on themes of technology, entertainment, and society, such as 'digital age', 'entertainment', 'smart device', and 'convenient'. However, there are numerous spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'conveniet' instead of convenient, 'enterainment', 'importantace', 'theater', 'sensative', 'prespective', and 'tecnology'. Additionally, the writer attempts less common vocabulary like 'evolving' and 'economic', but these are undermined by repeated inaccuracies. Communication is not severely impeded, but the high frequency of spelling mistakes and basic lexical limitations prevent the response from achieving a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'In the recent times, it is now conveniet for people to consume any kind of enterainment on internet anytime, but many individuals still debate...' However, grammatical control is weak, with frequent errors in articles, prepositions, verb forms, and punctuation. Examples include 'when there were no internet available peoples source of entertainment', 'people used to go in these both places', and 'were are getting evolved'. Punctuation errors are also noticeable, such as starting a new sentence unnecessarily after a comma or fragmenting clauses. While simple sentences are generally understandable, attempts at complex structures frequently result in grammatical faults that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader.
