Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is widely debated whether the impact of theaters and cinemas is stiil the same on the modern population. Many argue that in this modern world, the entretainmant is often accessible in online for everyone without the need of theaters while, others believe that theaters and ciemas are the source of actual fun and cannot be forgotted. This essay will discuss both perspectives before stating my opinion of why I believe teh traditional means of entertainment is more crucial.
On the one hand, the proponents of online fun believes that it is more convenient and often easily accessible to everyone. Nowadays, due to improvements in technology, more sophisticated and advanced movie streaming sofwares came into force which satisfies the viewer expectations of traditional theaters experience. For example, home theaters are most popularized in today's society enabling individuals to watch newly released movies at home. Moreover, many OTT platforms are trending nowadys among people allowing them to experience the theatre cinema in mobile phones and televisions.
On the other hand, the advocates of traditional theatre and cinema sources argue that it is important for society both economically and culturally. Theatres offer a great experience of watching movies with many people around. It often generates a great source of income to the governments by increasing its audience. Theatre also embodies the cultural values of the community by bringing people together to celebrate their favorite stars. For instance, on the occassion of thier super star birthday, fans celebrate by distributing food to the needy people which reflects the empathy and teh discipline that cinema has taught.
In my opinoin, although the online source of entertainment is often more convenient and accessible to everyone, I believe that traditional theatres offers a great exeprience and bring out economical and societal benefits.
In conclusion, online sources will make individuals to watch cinema at their convenient place by having their favorite food while theatre enables people to experience a great atmosphere and stronger impact of the movie.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that theatres and cinemas are no longer important due to online entertainment, and that they remain economically and culturally significant. The student also presents a clear personal position throughout the essay. The ideas are generally well extended and supported with relevant examples, such as home theatres and the cultural celebrations of movie stars. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise slightly in the body paragraphs, and some arguments could be explored in greater depth to reach a higher band. Overall, the requirements of the prompt are well covered, resulting in a solid performance for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a clear logical organisation and overall progression from introduction to conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with each main body paragraph focusing on a distinct view, followed by a clear personal opinion and a brief concluding remark. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Moreover' are employed to guide the reader through the arguments, though referencing is occasionally faulty or repetitive (e.g. 'the online source', 'traditional theatre'). Paragraph transitions are generally smooth, but some mechanical linking slightly detracts from natural flow, placing the response firmly at the Band 6.5 to 7 range.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common phrases such as 'sophisticated and advanced movie streaming softwars' and 'embodied the cultural values'. However, there are notable spelling errors ('stiil', 'entretainmant', 'in online', 'ciemas', 'teh', 'occassion', 'thier', 'opinoin') and occasional word-choice inaccuracies ('in online', 'streaming sofwares came into force'). While these errors are frequent enough to prevent a higher score, they do not severely impede communication because the overall meaning remains clear. Greater precision and accurate spelling would elevate this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses (e.g., 'fans celebrate by distributing food to the needy people which reflects the empathy...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('proponents of online fun believes'), missing articles, and awkward prepositions ('in online', 'in mobile phones'). Punctuation is generally functional, but control over complex structures is inconsistent. The errors sometimes cause strain for the reader, fitting the descriptors for Band 6 where grammatical control is adequate for communication but marked by persistent flaws.
