Student answer (Band 5.5)
These days, social media becomes the important source of entertainment. But what is the most effective method for dealing with digitalization is to promote cinemas according to modern standereds of society. Some people believe that due to internet the value of threaters are drop down, while some believe that cinemas are also valuable to enhance the cultural value of a country. In my perspective, to enhance the commercial value of a country cinema holds the same importance as internet and in this essay I will support my opinion with examples.
Firstly, cinemas are essential for promotions.By this I mean that without cinema the market value of a movie cannot be identified . For exmaple, due to cinemas people able to know about the market value of spiderman which is in million. This helps a movie alot as more people got attracted toward it. If the market value is unknow then promotions of movie will become difficult.
Another reason why I agree with is that it help to enhace the economical value of a country as well as holds a significant importance in promoting culture. Take global cinema as an example where different hollywood movies are published this help people to understand someone else culture as well as help american economic to exceed in a better way by imposing taxes on their movies.
On the other hand, Internet helps to watch every type of movie and dramas without imposing taxes else it is more comfortable and peacefull.Futhermore it helps to spend some quality time with family. But it doesn't benefit country economy to a great extend. So the drawbacks may outweigh its benefit. As a result cinemas are much more important and far more beneficial than other resources.
To sum up, although it is common believe that people like to prefer social media more as compared to cinemas or threaters in today world. I believe that threatres are important for enhacing market value of a movie and as well as provide financial benefits to the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on cinemas and theatres versus online entertainment, and the writer provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding the economic value and cultural promotion in the third paragraph is underdeveloped and relies on general claims rather than fully extended examples. The mention of Spider-Man in the second paragraph attempts to illustrate market value, but the reasoning remains slightly vague ('due to cinemas people able to know about the market value of spiderman'). While the task is adequately addressed, deeper elaboration and more precise real-world examples would elevate the content to a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different arguments, such as promotion in paragraph two and economic/cultural value in paragraph three. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or faulty cohesive devices (e.g., 'Another reason why I agree with is that...' and 'Futhermore it helps...'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, and transitional phrases lack natural variety, giving the essay a somewhat rigid flow. Overall, the organizational structure is functional but requires smoother links between sentences and paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating an attempt to incorporate less common items such as 'digitalization', 'commercial value', and 'cultural value'. However, there are notable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices throughout the text, such as 'standereds' (standards), 'threaters' (theaters), 'exmaple' (example), and 'published' instead of released in the context of movies. Additionally, collocations are occasionally awkward, such as 'exceed in a better way'. These inaccuracies demonstrate a restricted control over word formation and spelling, placing the response firmly in the Band 5 to 6 range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and relative structures (e.g., 'If the market value is unknow then promotions of movie will become difficult'). However, the text contains frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement, articles, prepositions, and spelling ('social media becomes the important source', 'value of threaters are drop down', 'due to cinemas people able to know'). Punctuation errors and missing words also occur regularly, which sometimes causes minor strain for the reader, although communication is generally maintained. The frequency of structural and mechanical errors prevents the score from reaching Band 6.
