Student answer (Band 5.0)

In fast paced world, today the technology had gone through many advancements. Technological innovations made everything very easy to use and organize. Now a days every people have smartphones, iPad and led in their home, they can easily use these devices for entertainment. While some people prefer to go to cinemas and theaters to watch plays and movies, Its completely depends on their own preferences. I totally agree with those people who says theatres and cinemas are no longer to be needed.

In today's world where technology dominated everywhere, many people have thoughts that theatres and cinemas are no longer important in people's life anymore for entertainment because every person have latest technologies in their pockets in form the smartphone, iPad or big TV screens installed in the wall of their house, in which they can watch different kinds of plays, songs and movies and get entertainment by sitting at home. These technologies are worth spending money. For example, some people decided to spend some quality time with each other and plan to watch movie, they will definitely choose to watch movie in home on big screen. These technological advancements made everything very easy apart from entertainment online business are also running by these technologies. Every person can not afford to buy tickets so this is also a very main reason.

Despite, having all these sources of entertainment some people still want to go to theatres and cinemas are very important for both economically and culturally because this is a tradition to watch new plays or movies in most of the regions of world. this is also very important for the GDP of every country. Apart from that some people wish to spend a good quality time with their loved one's by visiting theatres and cinemas. For example, If a family reunite after a very long time and they make a plan for outing they mostly choose theatres and cinemas

From my perspective, theatres and cinemas should no longer be important because visiting to these kinds of places are very expensive not every person can afford it and one of  the main reason is atmosphere in these places are not so good for those who are congested.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—the decline of theatres due to online entertainment and their ongoing economic and cultural importance—while also presenting a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding economic and cultural importance in the third paragraph is stated rather than fully explained, and the justification in the conclusion relies heavily on personal feelings about ticket prices and crowded atmospheres. While a clear position is maintained throughout, the supporting arguments require greater extension and depth to reach higher band levels. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, satisfying the requirements for a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays an overall coherent arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used, but transitions between ideas can be mechanical or abrupt, such as starting the third paragraph with 'Despite, having all these sources of entertainment...'. Logical progression is sometimes hindered by imprecise referencing and awkward phrasing, such as 'Every person can not afford to buy tickets so this is also a very main reason.' While the sequence of ideas is generally understandable, the misuse or lack of precise cohesive devices places this performance firmly in the Band 5.0 to 5.5 range, warranting a 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey basic ideas about technology and entertainment. However, there is a limited range of vocabulary with frequent lexical and collocation errors, such as 'fast paced world, today the technology had gone through', 'led' instead of 'LED' or screen, and 'every people have'. Attempts to use less common items sometimes result in unnatural phrasing, such as 'those who are congested' to mean claustrophobic or uncomfortable in crowds. Spelling and word choice errors are noticeable and occasionally cause strain for the reader, aligning well with the Band 5 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical accuracy is quite low throughout the essay. There are frequent errors in tense consistency, article usage, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'technology had gone through', 'every person have latest technologies', and 'visiting to these kinds of places are very expensive'. Punctuation is also weak, with missing apostrophes ('loved one's') and comma splices. Because these errors occur frequently and occasionally impede smooth communication, the grammar performance is characteristic of a Band 5.0.
