Student answer (Band 5.0)
There is ongoing debate about weather thatres and cinemas are more important in this modren age because people can easily access all these type of entertainment at home through internet, while others believe that theatres and cinemas are still vital for both economically and culturally. However, I believe that both view are important equally but some where theatres and cinemas are taking essential part in the economy and culture.
On the one hand, theatres and cinemas are playing a vital role in the development of the economy and also show casing the culture of the country. Its is also good to see the picture on the big screen and enjoy some snacks with that rather than watching from home in the mobile phone or a tv. one of the greatest advantage is that people should spend some quality time with their peer groups, family and girlfriend and had a great weakend make some memories and enjoy the picture on a big screen.
On the other hand, some people think that cinemas and theatres are goig to be less important in this modren generation of technology because people are watching movies, documentories, and series while staying at their home by using their internet. It is true that people are willing to stay at home and enjoy their downtime while watching movies online. Everything is easily accessable, faster, efficient, and time saving in this new era, so they can save their time and also money and stay safe in there house.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that people should go outside with there closed ones and spend some quality time with them while having snaks and watching movies on the big screen. This can halp the economy and also maintain the cultural heritage.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on whether theatres and cinemas are still important or rendered obsolete by online entertainment, and the writer provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, in the body paragraphs, the arguments regarding economic/cultural benefits and the convenience of home viewing are introduced but remain under-developed, often relying on simple assertions rather than detailed explanation. The conclusion reiterates the personal stance adequately. Because all parts of the prompt are addressed with a clear position, but with limited extension of ideas, the response corresponds to Band 5.5 to 6.0, fitting comfortably within Band 6 for addressing all parts though with under-developed support.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into four paragraphs with a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. However, cohesion at the sentence level is frequently faulty or mechanical. For instance, the transition 'some where theatres and cinemas are taking essential part' is awkward and unclear. Referencing is also weak in places, such as 'enjoy some snacks with that rather than watching from home in the mobile phone', where pronouns and prepositions lack precision. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different viewpoints, but the overall logical progression is occasionally disrupted by clunky transitions. This reflects the characteristics of Band 5.0 to 5.5, with enough logical arrangement for a Band 5.0 score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching upon relevant themes like 'entertainment', 'economy', 'cultural heritage', and 'downtime'. However, there are numerous spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'weather' instead of 'whether', 'modren' instead of 'modern', 'documentories' instead of 'documentaries', and 'accessable' instead of 'accessible'. Less common vocabulary is attempted but often marred by inaccurate collocation or spelling, as seen in 'show casing' and 'closed ones'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, their frequency prevents the score from rising above Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional or concessive clauses introduced by 'while' and 'although'. However, grammatical accuracy is low, with frequent errors in articles, prepositions, and tense agreement. Examples include 'all these type of entertainment', 'watching from home in the mobile phone', and 'girlfriend and had a great weakend make some memories'. Punctuation is also problematic, including run-on constructions and comma splices in compound sentences. Because the frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and simple structures are more reliably handled than complex ones, this performance is indicative of a Band 5.0.
