Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that theatres are obsolete due to online content, and that they remain economically and culturally important—while also providing a clear personal opinion. The writer establishes a position in the introduction and maintains it throughout the essay, concluding consistently. Ideas are presented and supported with examples, such as watching movies on Netflix or Amazon Prime while travelling on a train, and the economic impact on actors, musicians, and crew members. However, some arguments lack deep extension, and certain expressions of ideas are slightly repetitive. Overall, the content fully meets the requirements for Band 6.5, leaning towards Band 7 given the clear coverage of all task components.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, following a logical structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed to connect ideas, such as "On the one hand," "On the other hand," and "Additionally." However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in awkward transitions like "Both side have benefits and drawbacks and to a greater extent i strongly concur this view point of theaters are crucial as supports ecomicomy and preserve culture." Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, but internal paragraph cohesion could be smoother. These features align with the Band 6 descriptor criteria.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as "detrimental impact," "conventional cinema," and "substantial impact." However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word formation, such as "not much effective and usefull," "financially to large number" instead of financial support, "support ecomicomy," and "leads to vanish preserved culture." Spelling errors like "traveeing" and "ecomicomy" also appear. These lexical limitations and errors place the response firmly in the Band 6 category.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure through subordinate clauses and conditional phrasing (e.g., "provided that availability of internet and platform"). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with missing articles ("For an example while traveeing in train"), incorrect preposition usage, subject-verb agreement issues ("Cinema halls and theatres has"), and awkward phrasing. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur regularly throughout the text, preventing the response from reaching a higher band and fitting the Band 5.5 to 6 range.
