Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's contemparery society there is an arguable debate whether theatre and cinemas are still important or people no longer need to experience these because of technology.
To some extent I disagree that, because of digital media, theatre and cinemas are no longer important for society because, they are important part of our culture and still contributes alot in the economy of the country
However, many people believe that as they have access of all the entertainment platform online they no longer needed to go in theatre and cinemas because it is wasteage of time and sometimes on sepecial events their is traffic congestion because of crowded areas.
I firmly believe that theatre and cinema contributes alot in country reputation and economy. When a film or a play become famous worldwide it hepls alot to introduced culture of the country globally. And the live performances also help audiance to get shared community experience rather then experiencing it alone. Which is important for societies well being.
On the other hand, many people inclined to believe that theatre and cinemas are no longer important as now people can watch whatever they wany at their homes online in just one click, which helps them to save their time and they don't have to go sepecially in theatre and cinemas just to watch sepecfic movie or play. from environmental expect this also tend toward lower carbon emmision.
To conclude, Even in the digital age where people can watch anything online theatre cinemas are still important part of our life. However, it true that many people prefer technolog over experiencing it by themselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—the decline of physical theatres and cinemas due to digital streaming versus their ongoing cultural and economic importance—and provides a clear personal opinion. The student's position is maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, especially in the body paragraphs where points about culture, economy, and carbon emissions are stated rather than fully extended. For instance, the mention of carbon emissions is a relevant modern example but remains a brief, undeveloped assertion. Therefore, the response fulfills the requirements for Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised, though some paragraphs are quite brief or lack internal cohesion. Cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'To some extent', 'However', and 'On the other hand', but referencing and linking are sometimes faulty or mechanical (e.g., 'because, they are important' and missing punctuation leading to run-on structures). Progression is discernible, but the overall flow is hindered by abrupt transitions and a lack of sophisticated signposting. This places the response firmly in the Band 6 category.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student attempts some less common vocabulary relevant to the topic, such as 'traffic congestion', 'carbon emission', and 'shared community experience'. However, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, including 'contemparery', 'contributes alot' (also a grammar/collocation issue), 'hepls', 'introduced', 'audiance', 'wany', 'sepecially', and 'expect'. Word choices are sometimes imprecise, such as 'access of all the entertainment platform' instead of 'access to all entertainment platforms'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate for the task, these frequent lexical and spelling inaccuracies prevent the score from reaching a higher band, resulting in a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in punctuation, subject-verb agreement, and article usage (e.g., 'theatre and cinemas are no longer important', 'contributes alot in the economy', 'helps alot to introduced culture', 'societies well being'). Run-on sentences and missing commas frequently occur, such as in the concluding paragraph ('Even in the digital age where people can watch anything online theatre cinemas are still important part of our life'). These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, placing the response at Band 5.0.
