Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the 21st century, people are connected each other through digital transformation and internet facility. I strongly agree, the importance of theatres and cinemas disapeared due to the availability of the high spead internet.

Furthermore, people want to live alone rather than go to cinemas and theatres with family due to unavailability of the time. At past, people felt happy with family structure. Now, the change of the mind and inspirations are varied due to use of the latest technology. Youngsters used the 3'D films and take the subcription of the Netflix. So this is the main cause the importance of cinema is decrease due to the availlablity of the latest movies and dramas on the Netflix at the home.

In contrast, there are many disadvantages to use the latest technology and away from cinemas and theatres. People become the patient of psychology and do not feel happy in the gatthering place. This type of ill, become the serious harm for the society. In addition, people far away the depth of the real culture. Culture is very important for every society. Theatres and cinema produce the culture values and connected the people. Similarly, economic will be built on the principle of more values that is connected to the people on behalf of the culture.

Summing up, in my point of view, people must be used the latest technology. But they should not ignore the culture and economic values. Cinemas and theatres are helpful in the shape of economically and culturally.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to discuss both views regarding the importance of theatres and cinemas in the digital age and gives a personal opinion, thus addressing all parts of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times confusing. For instance, the writer states in the introduction 'I strongly agree, the importance of theatres and cinemas disapeared' which conflates the two opposing views presented in the prompt rather than discussing both sides neutrally before giving an opinion. The arguments regarding psychological health and cultural value are mentioned but remain under-developed and lack clear examples. Consequently, the task response aligns best with a Band 5 descriptor, as some parts are addressed only partially and ideas are not fully extended.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps signal the shift between ideas and the writer's conclusion. However, the overall progression is disrupted by unclear referencing and abrupt transitions. For example, sentences like 'At past, people felt happy with family structure' and 'This type of ill, become the serious harm for the society' lack smooth logical links to preceding statements. Cohesive devices are frequently misused or repetitive, such as 'Furthermore', 'In contrast', and 'Summing up'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is frequently faulty, resulting in a score of 5.0 under the official descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and often repetitive. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'digital transformation', 'subcription', and 'gatthering place', but these contain noticeable spelling and word-choice errors like 'disapeared', 'high spead', 'gatthering', and 'economically' used in place of 'economic'. Phrases such as 'patient of psychology' and 'produce the culture values' are unnatural and imprecise. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic meaning, the frequency of errors places this performance within the Band 5 category.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text shows a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at more complex sentences are frequently faulty, such as 'Youngsters used the 3'D films and take the subcription of the Netflix' (tense inconsistency) and 'people far away the depth of the real culture' (missing verb). There are frequent errors in prepositions and articles, including 'at the home', 'to use the latest technology', and 'on behalf of the culture'. These systematic errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect the Band 5 descriptor where frequent errors persist.
