Student answer (Band 5.5)

Few individuals believe that in this evolving era, where people with busy works prefers online platforms for watching the movies and can have the entertainment through internet while others set of people were still interested in prioritizing culture and also thinks theaters and cinemas still plays key role economically also. according to me both the view are reasonable while exceptionally i believe that going theaters and enjoying are quiet important.

To begin with, these days it is more common that all the individuals are busy with their hectic work schedule. so in the weekends when they get leisure time some people might prefer staying home and enjoying spending time with their loved ones rather going out to movie halls they would choose entertain themselves through internet. lets say for instance, young individuals now-a-days are occupied with their office work , even students are interested to watch movies on netflix, amazon, aha and entertain themselves with shows, dramas otherthan movies etc.., so, due to this emerging new platforms people are interested towards this platforms moreover, citizens can also saves money for other things like shopping, eating.

On the other hand, theaters and cinemas are necessary for country's economy and it reflects the tradition . Directors spends huge amounts of money on developing a movie. If the cinema suceeds then that even improves the situation of the country. for example, bahubali is a movie that has played internationally it gave money to the country and the members who were part of the movie. since the beginning movie halls and movies are the huge source of entertainment.

By considering both the views, I can say that eventhough online platforms saves time and gives more options , however going out and spending time with family while watching cinemas in theaters is more enjoyable. many children enjoys going outing with their parents for movie dates.

Finally, i can conclude that both the views makes sense that people can be entertained through internet through multiple sources and enjoy in order to save time and have their own space however my opinion is to go out to movie theaters to watch cinemas to preserve the traditions and to prevent children from loneliness.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—the decline of theatres in the digital age versus their ongoing cultural and economic importance—and clearly presents the student's own opinion. In the introduction, the writer outlines both perspectives and states a clear stance. The body paragraphs offer relevant supporting ideas, such as how busy work schedules and convenient streaming services like Netflix drive people toward online entertainment, while acknowledging that cinemas contribute significantly to the economy and artistic tradition. Although some arguments are somewhat generalized and could benefit from deeper elaboration, the task is covered adequately to satisfy the requirements for Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical four-paragraph structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The writer attempts to signal transitions using cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'By considering both the views'. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally faulty or mechanical, and sentence-to-sentence flow is sometimes disrupted by punctuation errors and run-on phrasing, particularly in the introduction and concluding sections. Paragraphing is present and broadly appropriate, guiding the reader through the distinct arguments, but paragraph internal cohesion lacks polish. Overall, these features place this response in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range, comfortably earning a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully communicating ideas about digital platforms, hectic work schedules, and economic contributions. There are several attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'hectic work schedule', 'prioritizing culture', and 'emerging new platforms'. However, frequent word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors occur throughout the text, such as 'prefers' instead of 'prefer', 'busy works', 'going theaters' instead of 'going to theatres', and 'suceeds' instead of 'succeeds'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they highlight limitations in lexical precision and accuracy, making Band 5.5 the most appropriate descriptor for this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating subordinating conjunctions like 'even though' and conditional ideas. However, control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('theaters and cinemas still plays'), missing prepositions ('going theaters'), tense inconsistencies, and numerous run-on sentences with incorrect comma splices and capitalization issues (e.g., starting sentences with lowercase letters like 'lets say' and 'finally, i can conclude'). While the meaning can generally be understood, the high frequency of basic and complex structural errors means that error-free sentences are in the minority, corresponding to a Band 5.0.
