Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some part of the community believe that cinemas and theatres are not as important in this digital age, while other contradict that those are still play an important role in development of economy and culture.
Let us discuss about the both opinions and in the last I will explain why I go with theatres and cinemas.
In today's era, digitalization is a part of life. Many people love to see movies and dramas in their phone on the go or on the televisions at home peace because everybody is busy in either in theor professional growth or education, so they do not get time to go out for movie or see drama in the theatres or cinemas. They prefered to go with online platforms for their recreation, so they can pause the show and continue see it later whenever they can. Online platforms save time for traveling to cinema or theatre and fuel consumption for car.
On other hand, from theatres and cinemas many people gets jobs and earn money for their family, like in theatres staff are needed to run it smoothly, while in drama many actors and crew membrs get paid for their work which help economy. While we go for cinema or movie it reminds so many memories we left behind and creates new memories.
In my opinion both has their own space and importance but I go with physical theaters and cinemas. The big screen experience we can get from cinemas with the sound effect, which is not possible to get on the phones, laptops or television at home. About theatres, we can connect with the emotions of the actors performing the role. I have seen a drama in the theatre a long ago, and I found the same drama online, for my curiocity i startes to see the drama again on the television but i do not get the feel I have gotten years back in the theatre.
Both online and physical medias are crutial now a days.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the view that theatres and cinemas are no longer important due to online entertainment and the counterargument regarding their economic and cultural significance. A clear personal opinion is also stated and supported throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and relies on basic reasoning, such as saving travel time or discussing personal memory. For instance, the economic impact is touched upon briefly by mentioning staff and actors getting paid, but it lacks deeper elaboration. Similarly, the discussion of the cultural role is rather superficial. These characteristics align best with Band 6, where the task is addressed with relevant ideas, though some areas remain somewhat under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs addressing different perspectives, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently hindered by awkward transitional phrasing, such as 'Let us discuss about the both opinions and in the last I will explain' and 'On other hand'. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'While we go for cinema'. Paragraphing is present, but the segmentation is somewhat weak, particularly with very short sentences acting as paragraphs or transitions. Referencing is also occasionally unclear. These features are characteristic of Band 6, where the arrangement is coherent overall, but cohesion and referencing show noticeable faults.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their thoughts about digital platforms and physical cinemas. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'digitalization', 'recreation', 'curiocity', and 'crutial', but these are often accompanied by spelling errors ('membrs', 'prefered', 'crutial') and minor word choice inaccuracies. Additionally, phrasing like 'see movies and dramas in their phone' and 'see the drama again' lacks natural collocation. The range is sufficient to communicate the main ideas clearly, but the presence of frequent spelling and lexical slips limits the score to Band 5.5, balancing between the descriptors for Band 5 and Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, attempting complex forms such as conditional-like clauses and subordinate clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is weak throughout the text. There are numerous errors in verb tense, agreement, and prepositions, such as 'Some part of the community believe', 'those are still play an important role', 'everybody is busy in either in theor professional growth', and 'the feel I have gotten years back'. Punctuation is also basic. While these errors do not completely impede communication, their frequency means that error-free sentences are in the minority, preventing the essay from reaching Band 6. Thus, a Band 5 is appropriate due to the frequent grammatical errors causing some difficulty.
