Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0

The response fails to address the prompt regarding theatres and cinemas versus online entertainment, discussing arts and science subjects in higher education instead. This indicates a complete misunderstanding of the task prompt. Furthermore, the response is slightly under the 250-word minimum, containing 247 words. Due to being completely off-topic and missing the length requirement, this earns a band score of 3.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression and overall arrangement are heavily disrupted by the lack of clear topic relevance. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively, such as 'Firstly,' 'At the other hand,' and 'In conclusin'. Referencing is frequently unclear, and punctuation errors (like double periods) disrupt the flow of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent word choice and collocation errors (e.g., 'possitive', 'presntage', 'creats', 'benifical'). The student attempts some less common words, but spelling mistakes (e.g., 'sucessful', 'convinient') and incorrect forms ('sunjects', 'business man') strain the reader and limit precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is very limited, relying heavily on simple and faulty complex structures. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people's become', 'Everyone have', 'mostly students thinks'), articles, and verb tenses that frequently impede understanding and cause difficulty for the reader.
