Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is widely believed that in the computer age, theatres and cinemas have less impotance these days, when people can watch any kind of movies or acting stage on the internet without going anywhere. Some people think that cinemas and theatres are still better for economy and culture.
In my perspective, theatres and cinemas are still have some importance ratherthan watching entertainment online because cinema gives more good experience of watching moive on big screen ratherthan watching on small screen at home. The feeling of watching large screen can be memorable, specially when you have you have plan to watch movie with friends and the you can get the same experience with theatres, for example watching actors live on the stage can be different and creative instead of watching them on T.V or mobile screen.
In my views, theatres and cinemas can be beneficial for our country and culture, for example when people buy tickets for watching movie or acting , they spend money for it and when money regulates in the country or person to person, it can automatically support our country economically. It can be also beneficial for our cultural history and program, for example actors and movies can represent our culture and history in films and theatres.
In conclusion, I think theatres and cinemas still have importance in people life and culture, although it also gives us information and education while watching educational and experimental films and theatres, it can also give us more details about our history.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views (online entertainment versus physical theatres/cinemas) and providing a personal opinion regarding their cultural and economic benefits. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the economic argument is framed very simply as 'when money regulates in the country or person to person, it can automatically support our country economically.' Examples are provided, such as buying tickets or actors representing cultural history, but they lack depth and extension. The position is clear throughout, but the overall elaboration falls into the Band 6 descriptor due to under-developed arguments and generalisations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs representing different aspects, and a conclusion, showing an overall structure and logical arrangement. However, paragraphing and logical progression are hindered by repetitive phrasing and weak cohesive ties. Phrases like 'In my perspective,' 'In my views,' and 'In conclusion' are used to structure the text, but internal cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, the sentence '...specially when you have you have plan to watch movie with friends and the you can get the same experience with theatres...' contains clunky referencing and disrupted flow. Paragraphing is present, but the overall progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but it shows noticeable limitations and repetition, such as repeatedly using words like 'entertainment,' 'theatres,' 'cinemas,' 'culture,' and 'experience.' There are also several word-choice and spelling errors, such as 'impotance' instead of importance, 'acting stage' instead of stage plays or performances, and 'ratherthan' written as one word. Less common lexical items are attempted ('experimental films,' 'cultural history'), but inaccuracies in collocation and form prevent the score from reaching a higher band. Communication is not seriously impeded, but the range remains basic and repetitive.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capacity to build multi-clause sentences. However, frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues persist throughout the text. Examples of errors include subject-verb and agreement flaws like 'theatres and cinemas are still have some importance,' repetitive phrasing like 'when you have you have plan,' and awkward preposition use such as 'experience of watching moive on big screen ratherthan watching on small screen.' Complex structures are frequently faulty, leading to sentences that require multiple readings to fully comprehend, placing the performance firmly in the Band 5 category for grammar.
