Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people argue that in the modern era, theaters and cenimas have no longer importance as everyone can watch any type of entertainment they want online, while some believe that economically and culturally cinemas and theatres are still important. So I think both groups views are correct in his place.
Cinemas and theatre were very popular in the 19th century as everyone will be waiting for a new entertainment and book their tickets and go to cenima and watch there, so a large number of people with different cultures and backgrounds will go to the theatre or cenima and enjoy everything they watch. It is important culturally and as well as economically as public have to book tickets and meet different people with different background
The theatres and cenimas have now been replaced by digital era and now everyone can watch everthing they want online. So everyone has access to any type of entertainment. People have not to pay for movies and dramas as they can watch it free of cost. You have no time limit you can watch it any time as previously people have to theatres and cenimas at proper time. So I thing it is good for people to save their money and also there is no time limit for it.
In conclusion both eras have their own importance regarding entertainment as theatres and cenimas were important for the economic growth and also culturally, while modern aged public have to watch any entertainment free at any time they want.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on theatres and cinemas (their decline due to online entertainment versus their ongoing economic and cultural importance) and provides a personal opinion, stating that both views have merit. However, the ideas are relatively basic and lack deep extension or specific examples. For instance, the mention that 'cinemas and theatre were very popular in the 19th century' is a general historical claim rather than a developed example, and the explanation of the digital age largely repeats the idea that people can watch entertainment online for free. Furthermore, the writer's position is somewhat weak and underdeveloped. This performance aligns best with the Band 5.0 descriptors, where the task is addressed, but ideas remain limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into four paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which provides a basic structural framework. However, the overall progression is weak. The first body paragraph awkwardly leaps back to the 19th century and relies on repetitive phrasing ('different cultures and backgrounds', 'different people with different background'). Cohesive devices are minimal and mechanical, relying heavily on simple conjunctions like 'so' and 'and'. For example, sentences are frequently strung together with 'so': 'So I think both groups views are correct in his place' and 'So everyone has access to any type of entertainment.' Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is faulty. This earns a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive throughout the essay. Words like 'entertainment', 'important', 'cultural', and 'online' are recycled frequently. There are also several spelling and lexical errors, such as 'cenimas' for cinemas, 'everthing' for everything, and 'thing' instead of 'think'. Collocations are occasionally unnatural, such as 'modern aged public' or 'in his place' instead of 'in their own right'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic message, the frequent spelling errors and limited range prevent the score from reaching a higher band. This corresponds to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. The sentences are predominantly simple or coordination-heavy compound structures linked by 'and' or 'so'. Attempts at complex structures are rare and often inaccurate, such as 'People have not to pay for movies and dramas as they can watch it free of cost.' There are numerous grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('public have' instead of 'public has'), tense inconsistencies ('as everyone will be waiting' instead of 'waited'), and missing articles. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 5.0 profile well.
