Student answer (Band 5.0)
most of the prefer watching movies online instead of watching movies on theatres and cinemas but in my perspective watching movie in your comfort zone is more reliable then watching on big screen
on the first hand ,watching movie on a big screen gives you a cinematic experience because it a great picture quality and voice effects also people love to go cinemas with their friends and spend a great time after watching movie people like to enjoy a meal and spend a memorable day moreover if we watch picture in theaters we buy tickets and also buy things to eats to keep our selves entertain it helps economy and also gives financial benefits to movie production offices and reward their work.
on the other hand watching movie online helps us to save money and we can enjoy movie any time we want we dont have to book a seat and sit there un comfortably for hours in order to enjoy a movie instead of going to a theater people can watch while sitting on our bed cooking our favorite meals moreover people can express their emotion without being judged by anybody. sometimes people likes to watch with their close ones and had a good time.
In my point of view staying home watching and enjoying a movie is better option so that i can enjoy and not feel tired and have full energy to go work next day unless going to treater makes me tired and drains my energy

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the decline of physical cinemas in the digital age and their ongoing economic and cultural importance, while also presenting a clear personal opinion that home viewing is preferable. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the economic point is briefly mentioned ("it helps economy and also gives financial benefits") without further elaboration or concrete examples. Similarly, the points regarding comfort are reiterated several times across paragraphs rather than extended with new arguments. Because all parts of the prompt are addressed and a consistent position is maintained throughout, the response comfortably earns a band 5.5, nearing band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The response suffers from significant organizational issues that hinder smooth progression. Punctuation and capitalization are almost entirely absent throughout the text, creating a massive run-on impression where sentences bleed into one another without proper boundaries, as seen in the opening lines ("most of the prefer watching movies online... then watching on big screen"). Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is weak and repetitive, relying on basic connectors like "on the first hand" and "moreover" in a mechanical fashion. Additionally, pronoun reference shifts abruptly in the final paragraph ("so that i can enjoy... while sitting on our bed"), causing confusion regarding the voice. These mechanical faults place this criterion squarely in band 4.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on simple words and phrases such as "watching movie," "spend a great time," and "save money." There are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies, such as "production offices" instead of production companies or studios, and "unless going to treater" instead of whereas or unlike. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic meaning of the writer's arguments, the lack of a varied lexical resource and persistent errors in word formation and spelling ("treater" for theater, "eats" for eat) restrict the score to a band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The grammatical range is quite limited, consisting mostly of strung-together simple and complex clauses joined by coordinating conjunctions without proper punctuation. There is a complete absence of periods and capital letters to mark sentence boundaries, which heavily impacts readability. Furthermore, grammatical errors are frequent: subject-verb agreement issues ("most of the prefer", "sometimes people likes"), missing articles ("in theatres", "on big screen"), and incorrect prepositions ("watching on theatres" instead of in). Because complex structures are frequently faulty and errors cause constant strain for the reader, this performance aligns with a band 4.5.
