Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The student attempts to address both views regarding the importance of theatres and cinemas versus online entertainment, stating a personal opinion in the introduction ("In my oppion, I satisfied..."). However, the development of ideas is limited and at times repetitive. While the prompt asks for an exploration of economic and cultural aspects, the student focuses primarily on convenience and health rather than explicitly discussing economics or culture. The position stated is also somewhat unclear due to awkward phrasing. Overall, the response meets the basic requirements of addressing all parts of the task cursorily, but the support lacks depth and extension, aligning best with a Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is divided into four paragraphs, showing a clear attempt at paragraphing. However, progression within paragraphs is often disrupted by mechanical or inaccurate cohesive devices, such as "On the otherhand," and "In addition." Referencing pronouns (like "its" and "our") are frequently misused, creating confusion regarding whose perspective is being represented (e.g., shifting between third-person and first-person plural). The overall progression lacks logical smoothness, which places this text solidly within Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent word-choice errors and awkward collocations. Examples include "online niche audience," "theatres and cinemas entertainment has been done into," and "health are on the harmful stage." While the student attempts less common phrases like "digitalized system" and "advance system," inaccuracies in form and usage impede clarity at times. The range is minimally adequate for the task, reflecting a Band 4.5 to 5.0 level, comfortably settling at 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on basic sentence forms with frequent errors in tense, article usage, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions. Examples of errors include "In the today's lifestyle," "everyone individual must watching," and "people should watching." Complex sentences are frequently faulty, and punctuation errors occur. These persistent errors cause frequent strain for the reader, placing the grammar performance at a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.
