Student answer (Band 5.0)

In 2026 people are more forcusing on digital age. People have more access to internet, tv programmes and online watching apps.

Through this people are easily connect with the entertaintment they want for their lifes. With the development of technology peoples used to attached with their mobiles and computers at home. Is this very cost friendly method for everyone and this is safest options they have. Most of peoples now renote their houses with modern small family movie theaters. Because they are happy to connect with their family and with the new technology they get this opportunity. Some times this may be a solution for busy persons like mothers with new babies. Because they can watch what ever they want and any time they have. As a example lots of mothers do not have time for themselves so with this technology they can get me time for their stress release and it will really helpfull to them.

On the other hand some people still enjoying visit to the theaters or cinemas and watch movies there. If peoples interest reduce towards cinema halls it will be a problem to that industry. Because they are earning money through the movie theaters and cinema halls. Also it will be affect to the jobs in that industry.

In conclusion, I am agree with this statement. Becasue now days most ooof people used mobiles and internet to watch all the entertainement. That is benefits for people with busy life, and it will give them a stress free life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the view that cinemas are no longer important due to online entertainment and the view that they remain economically and culturally significant. The writer also provides their own opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on home viewing focuses heavily on mothers with babies and stress relief rather than fully expanding on broader societal or economic implications. The position is stated, but the arguments lack depth and extended support. Overall, the response meets the basic requirements for Band 5.0 as it addresses the prompt, but the limited and partially developed ideas prevent it from reaching a higher band level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates some organization with basic paragraphing, separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, the logical progression is weak. Transitions between ideas are abrupt, and cohesive devices are often inaccurate or misused, such as 'Through this people are easily connect' and 'As a example'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and sentences do not flow smoothly together. The overall arrangement is disjointed, leading to a score of 5.0. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more accurately and ensure that each paragraph has a clear thematic progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer relies heavily on simple and repetitive words such as 'people', 'internet', 'watch', and 'entertainment'. There are noticeable lexical errors and incorrect word formations throughout the text, including 'forcusing' instead of 'focusing', 'online watching apps', 'cost friendly' instead of 'cost-effective', and 'renote' instead of 'renovate' or 'set up'. While the meaning is generally communicated despite these errors, the lack of a flexible or less common vocabulary range places this criterion firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences predominate, and attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty, such as 'Is this very cost friendly method for everyone and this is safest options they have.' There are frequent grammatical errors in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles, including 'peoples used to attached', 'Some times this may be a solution', and 'I am agree'. Punctuation is also problematic in places. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect Band 5.0 descriptors.
