The people who advocates that the theatres and cinemas are nescessary in today's world tend to believe that they get entertained by watching these stuff in their mobile phones. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—that cinemas and theatres are no longer important due to online entertainment, and that they remain economically and culturally vital—while also providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the argument regarding mobile phones is stated multiple times without adding deep insight, and the cultural argument relies on a single repetitive example regarding Punjabi movies. The position is clear throughout, but the support for ideas leans towards generalisations rather than well-extended explanations. Because all parts of the prompt are addressed and a position is maintained, the response corresponds to Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, providing a basic structural layout with an introduction, two body paragraphs discussing opposing views, and a conclusion. However, logical progression is frequently hindered by awkward phrasing, confusing referencing, and mechanical transitions (e.g., 'Adding more,' 'One more thing in this aspect is that,' and 'Finally, it promotes'). Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is sometimes faulty, making the flow disjointed. For instance, the transition between sentences within the body paragraphs does not always create a smooth progression of ideas. These cohesive issues place the response firmly at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with frequent lexical errors and awkward collocations that strain the reader. Examples include phrases like 'theatres and cinemas are prohibited is argumentated by some people' and 'watching these stuff in their mobile phones.' There are repeated spelling and word-form errors, such as 'nescessary,' 'argumentated,' and 'advocates' used instead of 'advocate.' While the student attempts less common vocabulary, the inaccuracies in word choice and spelling prevent the response from achieving a higher band. This lexical profile aligns with Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak throughout the essay. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the theatres and cinemas are prohibited,' 'the old minded people who does not want'), incorrect article usage, and unnatural phrasing. Many complex sentences are faulty, leading to frequent errors that cause difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning in places. Although basic sentences are occasionally correct, the high density of grammatical errors places this response at a Band 5.0.
