Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is a common believe that importance of theatres and cinemas has decline in the current technological era as all these entertainments are available online and people can watch them while being at home. Some people think that these are still essential for country economy and culture. This essay will discuss both these points along with my opinion.
The current digitalized world, has changed the human habits and behaviour. Accessibility of all the information on online platforms has decrease the inportance of entertainment center as people can watch all of their favorite dramas, movies and series on their internet devices. Current popullation do not want to waste money on such things as all this can cost a huge amount on travelling and buying tickets in theatres. For instance, cinema halls charges more than 1000 rupees on one tickets and there are seperate charges for food as they do not allow outside food in the hall. Technology has replaced theatres and cinema with the online platforms.
On the other hand, critics think that there is a huge role of entertainment centers to make and build economy and culture of country. Government has applied lots of taxe on these centers which is beneficial in the growing economy. Moreover, such areas are a mean of social and cultural development in a busy lifestyle. Many people cross the world go to the cinema with their friends and also meet new people from different culture. This is also a way to know something about different cultures and learn their norms and values.
According to my point of view, no doubt that technology changed the current lifestyle and also has some effects on the cinemas and theatres but along with these effects these center are still impoetant for country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The candidate successfully addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the view that cinemas are declining due to online entertainment and the counter-argument regarding economic and cultural importance. A clear personal position is presented in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Ideas are supported with relevant explanations and examples, such as the cost of cinema tickets and the social aspects of going out. However, some arguments lack deeper elaboration, keeping the response at a Band 6.0 level. For instance, the economic point mentions government taxes but does not explore how theatres stimulate local businesses or employment. Nonetheless, the task is fully covered in terms of its core prompt requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is arranged into a logical structure with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a brief conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed to guide the reader, such as 'On the other hand' and 'Moreover'. However, some logical progression is slightly hindered by awkward referencing and mechanical transitions. For example, the sentence 'Current popullation do not want to waste money...' follows abruptly without a smooth transitional link from the previous statement about digitalization. Overall, the flow is coherent, matching the Band 6 descriptor.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The candidate demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching upon relevant themes such as 'technological era', 'digitalized world', and 'cultural development'. Less common items are attempted, but there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'believe' instead of 'belief', 'decline' instead of 'declined', 'inportance', 'popullation', and 'taxe'. Despite these slips, the lexical resource is sufficient to convey the intended meaning without severely impeding communication, placing this response firmly in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over sentence structure. Examples of complex structures include 'Accessibility of all the information on online platforms has decrease...' and 'Government has applied lots of taxe on these centers which is beneficial...'. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('has decrease' instead of 'has decreased', 'cinema halls charges' instead of 'charge'), missing articles, and awkward prepositional phrases ('cross the world' instead of 'across the world'). These errors occasionally cause slight strain for the reader, aligning with Band 5.5.
