Student answer (Band 5.0)
Theatres and cinemas are the source of entertainment but at some extent it started lossing its value because some people think that online sources are enough for enjoyment. However, in this essay we will discuss both point of views.
Some people think that theaters and cinemas are not much important because due to widespread of technalogy people can enjoy according to their taste. As we know that social media nowadays can give you anything that you want in just a single click. You can entertain your self by talking to your international friends but in cinemas and theatres this opportunities are not available that is why they think that there is no longer need of them.
But on the other hand, some people think that cinemas and theaters are culturally and economically important because they want to prevent their culture and those who belive in this are old people and they think that in digital age vulger material is also available on internet. Another reason is that when they get together in cinemas the bond between society becomes more strong and they can enjoy together.
In my oppinion, both have its own value cinemas are important to prevent culture and entertainmet help you getting different kind of material for enjoyment.
In conclusion, young generation is prefering online source of entertainment but old people are prefering cinemas and theaters because they can see that they are loosing their values which is affecting our culture, that is why both of them have their own place in our society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on the importance of theatres and cinemas in the digital age, and presents a personal opinion in the fourth paragraph. However, the ideas are relatively undeveloped and tend to over-generalise, such as attributing all anti-digital cinema-going solely to older generations or vaguely mentioning cultural preservation without concrete examples. The stance is present throughout, but the reasoning lacks depth. For example, claiming that cinemas lack opportunities for talking to international friends compared to social media is a slightly weak and tangential point regarding theatre and cinema relevance. Because the task is addressed and a position is clear despite underdeveloped arguments, this aligns best with Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptors; a score of 5.5 is appropriate due to the limited development of ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays a logical overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing each view, a personal opinion, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. Transition phrases are basic or slightly awkward, such as 'However, in this essay we will discuss both point of views', and referencing is sometimes unclear, as seen in the final paragraph where pronouns like 'both of them have their own place' create ambiguity between generations and mediums. Paragraphing is attempted with five distinct paragraphs, but the internal logical progression within paragraphs is repetitive, particularly in the conclusion. These features point securely to a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic points about entertainment, technology, and culture. There are numerous spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'lossing' instead of losing, 'technalogy' instead of technology, 'vulger' instead of vulgar, 'oppinion' instead of opinion, and 'prefering' instead of preferring. Less common items are attempted, but inaccuracies in collocation and spelling are noticeable and occasionally impede communication. Phrases like 'the bond between society becomes more strong' show limited precision. Consequently, this performance fits the Band 5.0 descriptors well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conjunctions like 'because', 'although', and 'when'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in articles, prepositions, subject-verb agreement, and word forms. Examples include 'at some extent', 'started lossing its value', 'is not much important', 'these opportunities are not available', and 'both have its own value'. Punctuation is also problematic, with run-on sentences and comma splices, especially in the conclusion. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the grammar profile aligns with Band 5.0.
