Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued widely, in this digital era, people prefer online entertainment over visiting theatres and cinemas, while some believe that, they still hold importance culturally and economically.
First of all, in today's modern world the internet and cable bring a great change in entertainment industries. People no longer need to visit a cinema to watch any movie or a play. Young generation prefer ease over difficulties. For instance its difficult to stand in the long queues to purchase tickets and manage time according to showtime. This is time consuming and hectic for many peoples. Secondly, now individuals can watch any new movie at any time with friends and family sitting comfortably in their houses. Previously, facility of internet was not available people were bond to visit theaters to watch their favorite show.
On the other hand, movie theatres play a huge role in culture representation and economic growth. As, tax generated from these industries help in the economy, which can be used in education and healthcare sectors. Furthermore, Movie houses are one of the way to present culture and tradition to others. If young generation show their interest towards theatres, film makers will produce more films and generate revenue. when local people give preference to opera houses, tourists also perfect to visit and learn about the culture through movies.
In my opinion, in todays world, where physical activities and interaction is limited, people should visit cinemas occasionally, as this will increase social interaction and create a bound between strangers. This will effect economy positively.
To conclude, digitalization minimize importance of theatres and movie houses. They still hold importance in economy growth and culture development. It hold the great importance in social interaction.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—the shift towards online entertainment and the enduring economic and cultural importance of physical cinemas—while also presenting a clear personal opinion. The position is maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat superficial. For instance, the points about cultural representation and economic tax generation are stated rather than fully extended with specific examples or deep analysis. The conclusion also introduces new ideas about social interaction that were not fully integrated into the body paragraphs. These tendencies place the response firmly in Band 6, where relevant ideas are presented and all parts of the task are addressed, but some areas lack deeper elaboration.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, body paragraphs for each view, personal opinion, and conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude' are used to structure the text, though they can feel somewhat mechanical or basic. Referencing is generally clear, such as using 'these industries' to refer back to movie theatres. However, logical progression within paragraphs falters slightly due to abrupt transitions and minor structural issues, such as starting sentences with conjunctions ('As, tax generated...'). Overall, the organizational structure meets the criteria for Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like 'digital era', 'entertainment industries', 'economic growth', and 'culture representation'. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, but these are occasionally marred by word choice and collocation errors, such as 'cultural representation' written as 'culture representation', 'bond' used instead of 'bond' or 'connection', and 'perfect' instead of 'prefer'. Spelling is mostly accurate, though minor grammatical-lexical slips occur. The lexical range is sufficient to communicate the main points clearly, aligning with the Band 6 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as missing articles ('in economy growth', 'It hold the great importance'), incorrect prepositions, and punctuation issues (e.g., comma splices and misplaced commas like 'As, tax generated...'). Subject-verb agreement errors also appear, such as 'Young generation prefer' and 'digitalization minimize'. While these errors do not severely impede communication and the basic meaning remains clear, the frequency of non-systematic errors prevents the essay from reaching Band 7, making Band 6 an accurate assessment.
