Student answer (Band 5.5)
individuals have different views about theaters and cinema. However, in my opinion both points have the equal importance in different perspectives.
On the one hand, people say that theaters and cinemas are no longer importance in digital age. There are many reasons, at first, people can watch all movies on mobile online. People can watch movies with family at home, it gives them more privacy and comfort. They can spend quality time with family. Beside this, mobile plans are cheaper than theaters tickest. whole family use the same plan for online watching. In cinemas people will avoid for watching movies, because of family privacy. For example, netflix gives more option in subscription, so with one data plan many users can use netflix subscription at same time.
On the other hand, cinema and theaters are important in economy and culture. Cinemas support employment and economy. In theaters, people can watch live shows that give a different experience to and people watch traditional shows and concerts in theaters, they will know more about their culture. Moreover, people will socialise more in cinemas and theaters so, they will know more each others. Furthermore, Cinemas give more natural environment for watching movies and they will enjoy more in cinemas.
In conclusion, watching onine movies and shows will benifical for people in different ways, such as financially and it gives privacy and comfort. However, cinemas and theaters are equally important for people, they support culture and traditions in different ways ans also they support economy for society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that theatres and cinemas are no longer important due to online entertainment, and that they remain economically and culturally significant. The student also provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, touching upon aspects such as cost, comfort, family privacy, employment, and cultural preservation. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, particularly regarding family privacy and streaming options like Netflix. While the arguments are generally clear, they lack deeper extension and sophisticated supporting examples, fitting the profile of a Band 6.0 performance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to use standard paragraphing, dividing the response into an introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. There are cohesive devices and transition signals used throughout, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, the logical progression is sometimes hindered by mechanical or faulty referencing and abrupt transitions, such as 'Beside this' and 'In cinemas people will avoid for watching movies'. Furthermore, paragraph internal cohesion can feel disjointed due to repetitive sentence structures and a lack of smooth semantic flow between consecutive points.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday concepts relating to technology, entertainment, and economics. Words and phrases like 'digital age', 'subscription', 'employment', and 'traditional shows' are used appropriately. However, there are noticeable lexical limitations and recurrent inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and phrasing, such as 'theaters tickest' (tickets), 'watching onine movies', and 'benifical' (beneficial). Attempts at less common vocabulary are generally straightforward, and while the errors do not severely impede communication, they prevent the response from achieving a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional ideas and relative clauses such as 'people can watch all movies on mobile online' and 'shows that give a different experience'. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('in digital age'), incorrect verb forms ('people will avoid for watching'), and run-on sentences or comma splices ('so, they will know more about their culture.Moreover'). While the basic meaning usually remains understandable despite these frequent slips, the lack of consistent grammatical control places this response firmly in the Band 5.0 range.
