Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowdays people aare debate in this topic. Theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online and others argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. In my opinion, the both are very conceptual things. In this essay i will discuss the both these views.

On the one hand, some people are very sociable, thats why they are very enjoyable to see cinemas in threatres. The theatres and cinemas are very important for economically because the goverment was earned a money as a tax. Furthermore, the theatres are provide a job opportunities. For example, if theatres are no longer they impact on goverments, because they indirectly play vital role to earned money. Many flims and theatres will pay taxes to governments.

On the another hand, if the people are very shy or unsociable they want to see movies in home. Nowdays people are more busy to doing hard work for earn money. In contrast individuals are unable to see movies in theatres. So people are want to see in online to feel entertainment and enjoyable. For example, people are physicall weak then what to do to feel enjoyable, that's why watching is home is very well.

In conclusion, I am discussing both these views some people say that in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as peope can watch all entertainment they want online, but somepople are argue for theats and cinemas are important both economically and cuturally. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—the decline of theatres due to online streaming and their ongoing economic and cultural importance—and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes repetitive. For instance, the economic point mentions that the government earns money through taxes and provides job opportunities, but these ideas are under-developed and lack specific, well-articulated examples. The reasoning regarding people being physically weak or shy in the third paragraph is somewhat tangential and unclear in supporting the broader arguments. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of extension places this response comfortably at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay has some organisation, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but overall progression is lacking. Transitional phrases are often misused or mechanical, such as 'Nowdays people aare debate in this topic' and 'On the another hand'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow of sentences is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and repetition. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for example, 'the both are very conceptual things' fails to establish coherent links to preceding ideas. Cohesive devices are inadequate and sometimes inaccurate, resulting in a score of 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with frequent spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples of basic or erroneous lexical choices include 'threatres' instead of 'theatres', 'for economically' instead of 'economically', and 'earn money' repeated multiple times. Attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'unsociable' or 'physicall weak', lack precision and natural collocation. While the language is minimally adequate to convey the basic topic, the high density of lexical errors and restricted range prevent the score from exceeding Band 4.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences with frequent structural errors. There are numerous basic grammatical inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'people aare debate in this topic', 'if theatres are no longer they impact on goverments', and 'people are want to see in online'. Subject-verb agreement errors, incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'watching is home is very well'), and faulty punctuation are pervasive. These errors frequently cause difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from achieving a higher band, justifying a score of 4.5.
