Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people say that the new age theatres and cinemas are no longer important because people can watch movies online. The twist is that some people argue that theatres and cinemas are still very crucial for making money and culture.
From my prospective the people who says that cinemas and theatres are no important in this tech world are 100% right because there are mobile phones and internet, so you can watch your favourite movies or any other entertainment . It is very easier and cheaper as compared to cinemas because they can charged money from you . For example there are two friends , one is watching movies and films on mobile phones through YouTube and the second one going to theatre paying extra money to watch a movie . As a result the one is enjoying free but the other one is pay for it .
The people who are disagree and debating about this statement are old aged people because they did not know any thing about social media and other products which is related to this . In there phases this new technology is not introduced yet so they are arguing about this and saying this but the one thing from their opinion is good as they are talking about culture . For example in theatres people gathered enjoying watching films. It had very fun to watching movies together .
Overall, summary of the easy is that watching movies in cinemas is bit expensive than watching is on internet.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to discuss both views regarding the importance of theatres and cinemas, as well as providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat simplistic. For instance, the argument supporting online streaming relies on a basic example of two friends comparing free mobile viewing versus paying for a ticket. Furthermore, the analysis of the opposing view about economic and cultural benefits is underdeveloped, dismissing it largely as the perspective of older generations who are unfamiliar with technology. While the prompt is addressed, the reasoning lacks depth and extension, aligning best with a band 5.0 descriptor profile where ideas are restricted and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the overall progression lacks strong logical flow and cohesion. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or awkward, such as starting a sentence with 'The twist is that' or 'In there phases'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly with pronoun use like 'the one is enjoying free but the other one is pay for it'. Paragraphing is attempted, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion, but the internal structuring and transitions between sentences require better control. This corresponds to a band 5.0 level where organisation is present but progression is unclear and cohesive devices are inadequate.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple words like 'important', 'movies', 'watching', and 'money'. There are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as writing 'From my prospective' instead of 'From my perspective', and stating that cinemas 'charged money from you'. Spelling and morphological issues also appear, such as 'easy' instead of 'essay' in the conclusion. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for conveying a simple message, but errors and lack of sophistication keep this strictly at a band 5.0 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, with frequent errors that cause some difficulty for the reader. There are persistent problems with verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, as seen in sentences like 'the people who says that cinemas and theatres are no important' and 'In there phases this new technology is not introduced yet'. Complex sentence attempts are often faulty, and punctuation errors are common. Because frequent grammatical errors impede smooth reading and control is weak, this performance matches a band 5.0.
