Student answer (Band 6.0)
A lot of individual say that in this era of technology cinemas and theatre are no longer significant because people often watch all the entertainment online. However, numerous people believe that cinemas and theatre are still crucial.
I partially agree with this statement.
I will articulate my views in the upcoming paragraphs.
The following discussion explores the, different opnion about cinema and theatre. This essay is a double' edged sword. A significnat proportion of people prefer to watch entertainment online in the form of television, mobile phone and laptops with internet connection. There are abundance of online platform which we can use to watch movies, web series, games and documentaries such as, netflix, amazon prime, Hotstar and so many other. Folks find these platforms are affordable because comapnies offer different packges which is cheaper than cinema as well as everyone can afford it. Furthermore, online streaming services are highly convenient because people can watch movies from the comfort of their own homes without having to visit a cinema. Consequently, Viewers can save money on transportation, food and cinema ticket.
In additon, people can watch programmes whenever they have free time instead of following a fixed cinema schedule.
On the other hand, a plethora of people believe that cinema and threatre are still play an integral part in our lives. if we look back a decade ago, that time cinema is the main source of entertainment as people had to visit theatre watch newly released movies. Moreover, going to cinema provide a outstanding experience to watch movie on a bigger screen with great high sound quality and features. Additionly, it allow people to spend quality time with their family and friends.
In conclusion, we looked at both side. Both sides have their own merits and demerits. As far as i am concerned, cinema and online streaming both have equal qualities in their own way. Online streaming is now become a part and parcel of our lives but cinema also have a special place in our hearts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on whether cinemas and theatres are still important in the digital age, and the student provides a clear position, stating partial agreement. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, with reasons and examples such as cost, convenience, and nostalgia. However, some arguments border on over-generalisation, and the conclusion is slightly brief. The response earns a band 6.5 because it covers all aspects of the prompt adequately and presents a clear viewpoint, though further extension and deeper exploration of cultural and economic factors would be required to reach higher band levels.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement and follows a standard argumentative structure with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, paragraphing is somewhat disjointed in the opening section, where single-sentence paragraphs like 'I partially agree with this statement.' detract from logical flow. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen with phrases like 'The following discussion explores the, different opnion about cinema and theatre. This essay is a double' edged sword.' Referencing is occasionally unclear, and punctuation errors around conjunctions disrupt cohesion. Overall, the organisation demonstrates a band 6 level where progression is visible, but cohesive management is inconsistent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'abundace', 'plethora', and 'part and parcel', showing an adequate range for the task. However, there are numerous spelling and word choice errors, including 'individual' instead of 'individuals', 'opnion' instead of 'opinion', 'comapnies', 'packges', and 'threatre'. Incorrect collocations and awkward phrasings like 'a double\' edged sword' used in an academic context also occur. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to band 5.5, as the frequent slips in spelling and lexical precision prevent it from comfortably securing a band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('cinemas and threatre are still play an integral part'), tense inconsistencies ('that time cinema is the main source'), and incorrect verb forms ('Online streaming is now become'). Punctuation is also problematic in places, including stray commas and missing apostrophes. While the meaning is generally clear despite these errors, the density of grammatical slips places the response squarely at band 5.5.
