Student answer (Band 5.0)
There is an ongoing debate regarding, the importance of theaters and cinemas. There are divided opinions. A group of individuals have argued that, people can watch everything on internet so that the demand of theatres and cinemas will decline due to modern technology; however, other are counter claimed that, it reamins same because of economical and culturally valuable. Prior to my stance, both the viewpoints would be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs with valid reasons and appropriate examples.
Discussing the former view, supporters believe that, everything become easily available on online platforms such as netflix, prime video and mx player. There is no longer need of theatres and cinmas to watch new release movies. As a result, people find it more convenient, budget friendly and watch it on their hour of need.
However, proponents have their own opinion. To begin with, people have been watching movies or entertainmnet sources at theatres an cinemas. It has a significant importance of culture and economy. For instance, when any new movie release it first appear on cinema. Concequently, it mainly affcet the economy because many people chhose enormous screen to make their experience better. Nowadays, there are various options are available such as 3D or amenities of siting pattern. As a result, people enjoy with their friends and families, which is idel to culturally.
To sum up and offer my position, I support later view. Theatres and cinemas are still crucial both economically and culturally beacuse people still want to go to watch new release movie to make their experience memorable.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address all parts of the task by discussing both views—that online streaming diminishes the need for cinemas, and that theatres remain economically and culturally vital—while also providing a clear personal position in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For instance, the points about cultural and economic importance are vague, stating simply that new movies are released in cinemas and that people enjoy them with friends, without fully extending or substantiating these claims with robust examples. The arguments lean towards over-generalisation. Consequently, the task response aligns best with Band 5 descriptors, as the ideas are under-developed and the position, although clear, lacks deep elaboration.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some logical organisation with a clear four-paragraph structure representing an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is occasionally hindered by awkward mechanical transitions and intrusive cohesive devices such as "Prior to my stance," and "Discussing the former view, supporters believe that,". Referencing is sometimes unclear, and logical flow suffers from abrupt topic shifts and structural awkwardness. Paragraphing is attempted, but paragraph internal cohesion is faulty. These features place the response firmly at Band 5, showing noticeable mechanical cohesion and a lack of smooth progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching upon relevant topics such as "entertainment sources," "budget friendly," and "online platforms." However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors that detract from the writing, including "remains same" instead of "remains the same," "counter claimed" instead of "counterclaim," "cinmas" instead of "cinemas," and "affcet" instead of "affect." Less common lexical items are attempted but frequently inaccurate or awkward in collocation, such as "idel to culturally." These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a Band 5 lexical level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as missing articles, incorrect verb forms, and punctuation mistakes (e.g., "regarding, the importance," "everything become easily available," and "there are various options are available"). While the meaning can generally be parsed, the accumulation of errors causes regular disruption. The control of grammar is inconsistent, making Band 5 the most accurate descriptor for grammatical range and accuracy.
