Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people say that in todays world theater and cinema are no longer imporatant as they were before. Nowadays, people can watch all the entertainment in their phone or at home using the internet. I agree that, theater and cinema are still imporatant both economically and culturally.
First we discuss why people stop going to theater or cinema to watch movies. Based on customer point, Cinema and theater are expensive nowadays. They have to pay the movie tickets and snacks like popcorn and bevrages. Instead of that, if they prefer to watch the same movie at home without buying tickets.
Secondly, they can watch movie at home without wasting their travel time and money on fuel. At home, they can wear comfortable clothes such as pajama and shorts. And watch their favourite characters.
On the other hand, Theater and cinema are still important both way economically an d culturally. People can watch the movie at home but Cinema still give the best experience in the movie hall like you were there in that movie. That expereience nobody can have it at home in there Tv or phone.
In addition, when the film producer make the new film they spend a lot money for charcters(hero/ heroine/side charctors), location, music and many more. Film make have hope if the film get hit on big cinema than they receive money.
In my opinion,Cinema and theater are imporatnt in economically and cuturally. If cinema and theater get shut, there are many people they can loose their jobs. Because, we have really big industry in Bollywood, Hollywood and Tollywood. So, many people can rely on their job or duty at cinema.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the view that theatres and cinemas are no longer important due to online entertainment and the counter-argument that they remain economically and culturally significant. The student also provides a clear position stating agreement with the latter view. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the reasons provided for why people stay home are basic, revolving mainly around cost, travel time, and clothing, and lack deep extension. Similarly, the economic and cultural arguments in the body paragraphs are surface-level. While the main task requirements are met, the depth of exploration aligns more closely with a Band 6.0 descriptor, where ideas are relevant but somewhat under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor transitions and isolated sentences. The introduction is very brief, and paragraphs often consist of single, disjointed thoughts, such as 'Secondly, they can watch movie at home without wasting their travel time...' which lacks a complete predicate structure in places. Cohesive devices are basic and sometimes mechanical (e.g., 'First we discuss', 'Secondly', 'On the other hand', 'In addition'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in 'In my opinion, Cinema and theater are imporatant in economically and cuturally. If cinema and theater get shut, there are many people they can loose their jobs.' Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion requires improvement, warranting a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for communicating basic ideas, but it is repetitive and contains several spelling errors (e.g., 'todays', 'imporatant', 'bevrages', 'charcters', 'cuturally', 'loose' instead of 'lose'). The writer attempts some less common terms like 'economically and culturally', but overall the lexical range is narrow and restricted to common words. Errors in word choice and spelling occur frequently throughout the text, though they generally do not impede overall comprehension. This performance fits the Band 5.0 descriptor, where vocabulary is limited and noticeable errors occur.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, missing articles, and awkward phrasing, such as 'Based on customer point, Cinema and theater are expensive nowadays' and 'Film make have hope if the film get hit on big cinema than they receive money.' Subject-verb agreement errors ('film producer make', 'people they can loose') and tense inconsistencies are common. While simple sentences are occasionally correct, complex structures are frequently faulty, causing some difficulty for the reader and aligning with a Band 5.0 score.
