Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent year the issue of theatres and cinemas are still important in digital age has become a topic of considerable debate . It is widely believed that online entertainment has replaced traditional cenima .While some people argue that theatres and cinemaas are no longer crucial.I firmly believed that they are still important economically and culturally. This essay will discuss the key reason for my view.

To begin with one of the most compelling reason to support this opinion is that theatre and cinemas is immense culture value. This is mainly because they provide a collective experince that cannot be replicated at home.In other word watching a movie on a big screen with hundrad of people create a sense of community and excitement. An clear example of this can be seen in pakistan where families go cenima to watch movies. therfor it is evident that culture importance is extremely important.

In addition to that another equally important facter is that theatres and cenimas play a vital economic role. It is well known fact is that entertainment industry create million of job worldwide. moreover cinema create a huge and food stalls.for instance it is clear that major cenima in lahore like cenipax employ hundrad of local staff attracted in nearby cities. Thus economics benefit play a crucial role in supporting sociaty

In conclusion I strongly agree that theatres and cenima still importand in digital age. This is because it offer a wide range of advantage include immense culture value and vital economics benefits

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the decline of theatres in the digital age and their enduring economic and cultural importance, while also presenting a clear personal opinion. However, the task achievement is impacted by the word count falling short at 247 words, failing the 250-word minimum requirement. The ideas are relevant and supported with examples, such as referencing cinemas in Pakistan and Lahore, but some arguments remain somewhat underdeveloped and repetitive, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Overall, the prompt is covered, but the length penalty and limited depth keep it at a Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is organized into four distinct paragraphs, attempting a standard structure including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is hindered by frequent structural and mechanical issues. Cohesive devices are sometimes used, such as 'To begin with' and 'In addition to that', but referencing is occasionally unclear or faulty, as seen in pronoun mismatches like 'This is because it offer...'. Paragraphing is present, but the transitions between ideas lack smoothness. The overall arrangement demonstrates some organisation, aligning with the Band 5 descriptors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'compelling', 'replicated', and 'immense culture value'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'cenima', 'cenimas', 'experince', 'hundrad', 'therfor', 'facter', 'sociaty', and 'importand'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they are noticeable and detract from the overall quality. The lexical range is minimally adequate, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and singular/plural forms, such as 'theatres and cinemas is immense culture value' and 'cinema create a huge and food stalls'. Punctuation errors are also present, including missing spaces after periods and awkward comma splices or run-on structures like 'no longer crucial.I firmly believed'. While simple sentences are generally understandable, attempts at complex structures frequently result in errors that require some effort from the reader to interpret, supporting a Band 5 score.
