Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued by some people that nowadays people watch all the entertainment they want online, cinemas and theatres are no longer important for time saving. Meanwhile, others argue that for economically and culturally theatres and and cinemas are still important for better quality. However , I believed that theatres and cinemas are important for economic benefit.
On the one hand, the supporter of online entertainment believe that watching online benefit for time saving. As people can watch movie or other thing they wanted continually without break. Take an example, recently a survey conduct in Japan and 80 percent people said watching entertainment online is better for time saving. Thus, the supporters of this view support their findings back their analysis with valid argument.
While on the other hand, the advocates of the view that theatres and cinemas still important believe that quality are better. As people see movie in large screen and best quality. For instance, most of the China, population watched film in cinemas for better quality. Hence, this view also seem to carry a lot weightage.
However, I believe that theatres and cinemas are still important for economic benefit. As people watch film in theatres they pay a tax which increased the economy of the country. For instance, the economy of Russia, is grow because people of this country want into the cinemas for watching movies.
To sum up, even though online entertainment is some advantage, but I theatres and cinemas are still important for economic growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views (online entertainment versus traditional cinemas and theatres) and providing a clear personal opinion regarding economic benefits. The ideas are generally relevant, but they lack full development and depth. For instance, the arguments regarding time-saving and economic impact are quite brief and rely on simplistic supporting examples, such as 'a survey conduct in Japan' and 'the economy of Russia, is grow'. This places the response firmly in Band 5.0, as the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed, and the conclusion contains a fragmented sentence: 'but I theatres and cinemas are still important'. To reach a higher band, the student should expand explanations with more detailed reasoning and fully articulated examples rather than generalized assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is organized into distinct paragraphs following an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting opposing views, a personal opinion paragraph, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and mechanical cohesive devices. For example, the writer uses repetitive transitional phrases such as 'On the one hand' and 'While on the other hand', followed immediately by 'However, I believe'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and grammatical errors within linking structures impede smooth flow. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is faulty in places, particularly in the final sentence where the omission of verbs breaks the logical thread. These features align with the Band 5 descriptors for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary suitable for discussing entertainment and economics. Words like 'entertainment', 'economically', 'culturally', and 'survey' are used correctly. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'for time saving' instead of 'to save time', 'population watched film' instead of 'the population watches films', and 'weightage' instead of 'weight'. Additionally, there are repetitive lexical choices, with 'important' and 'better quality' appearing multiple times. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a vocabulary profile typical of Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, and sentence construction. Examples include 'cinemas and theatres are no longer important for time saving' (awkward phrasing), 'a survey conduct in Japan' (missing past participle/passive form), and 'the economy of Russia, is grow' (incorrect verb form). Furthermore, the final sentence is incomplete and ungrammatical: 'even though online entertainment is some advantage, but I theatres and cinemas are still important'. These pervasive errors restrict the grammatical score to Band 5.0, as complex attempts are frequently faulty.
