Student answer (Band 4.5)

Some people believe that  in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer nessasari as everyone can consume all the entertainment they want online.,while others believe that theatres and cinemas are still essantial for both economically and culturally. In this essay I mention both side before give my honest opinion.

There is no doubt that modern era is take over the things, the same way it also effect the theatres and cinemas where for watching movies many digital platform like Prime, netflix and so more. It also save cost and time from trevling. Example two friends who dont get free at day time but both avlable after 10 pm so they easly watch movies togather there is not sharp time issue that you have to reach this place at this time.

However, Watching movie in theatres and cinemas have its own diffrent expreance for instance a cuple go to on date so they preffer theatres becouse of there unice expreance. Secondly movies director and managers after too much time the allow to screen movies on digital platform in most of the cases and some time they totaly not in favour to give movies to digital platform example a latest movie of Amir Khan he dont allow it for digital platform.

Although the earlier opinion can be beneficial in some cases like save cost, time and esayer avilibility , I believe that theatres and cinemas have still have much craze moreover both still nesasari and important both economically and culturally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt regarding the digital age and the economic/cultural importance of physical venues, while also providing a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times superficial. For example, when discussing digital platforms, the student simply lists services like 'Prime, netflix' and provides a brief anecdotal example about two friends. The arguments regarding economic and cultural value are also under-developed, relying on basic assertions and a single loose example involving 'Aamir Khan'. While all core requirements of the task are touched upon, the lack of fully extended and supported arguments keeps the score at this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion, showing an attempt at organisation. However, the overall progression is hindered by poor paragraphing logic, mechanical transitions such as 'Secondly' and 'Although', and run-on sentences. For instance, the second paragraph transitions abruptly from streaming services to a friend example without adequate linking. Referencing is also faulty in places, such as 'the earlier opinion' in the conclusion referring to the first view discussed. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly, making the flow disjointed at times.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and heavily impacted by spelling errors. Throughout the text, common words are frequently misspelled, such as 'nessasari' instead of necessary, 'trevling', 'avlable', 'diffrent', 'expreance', 'cuple', 'becouse', 'unice', 'esayer', and 'avilibility'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary like 'digital platform' and 'culturally', but the persistent spelling mistakes and inaccurate collocations ('have much craze') significantly impede readability and strain the reader, placing the lexical control at a lower band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mostly of simple sentences and faulty complex forms. There are frequent and systematic errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. Examples include 'modern era is take over', 'where for watching movies many digital platform', 'movies director and managers after too much time the allow', and sentences run together with comma splices, such as '...entertainment they want online.,while others believe...'. These errors occur throughout the text and frequently cause difficulty for the reader.
