Student answer (Band 5.5)

In todays world, some individuals thinks that watching movies on internet is good option rather than going to big screens while other believes that going inperson for entertainment helps financial growth and also cultural. In my opinion, i particually agree with it because both have there own benifits.

To start with, watching movies on internet helps ones to same amount of money they spent money on movie tickets. Also, if they went inperson to watch they have to travel to the destination, will leads to waste of time. However, setting in home and watching via online platform, there are variety of options available rather than watching specific in cinemas. For instance, netflix, application which serve different types of pictures like bollywood, hollywood and trollywood and also in different languages. Nowadays, youngster preffer to have a movie setup insider there homes to watch movies so they will not prefer to go out and watch in cinemas.

On the other side, theatres and cinemas are playing vital role in country economic. People in past days were found of watching movies in bigger screens as that can delivery a different feel to watch with good quality of sound and larger pictures. Watching movies oustide help to generate some revenue by seeling food items during and movie break and also on movie tickets. For example, last year report says that 13% in country GDP was from movie theatres. The main benifit of popularity of watching movie on wider display is new movies are first being published in the cinemas and then later on being released on internet.

In conclusion, watching movies while seating home can save time and can provide a wider different option to watch but going in theatres can provide a new realised movie to watch at time rather then waiting for it to come internet. I believe both have there own benifits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The student addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views (online entertainment versus traditional theatres/cinemas) and providing a personal opinion, which aligns with the Band 6 descriptors. However, the position is somewhat confusingly stated in the introduction ("i particually agree with it because both have there own benifits"), making the stance slightly contradictory since agreeing with both sides is not a single clear position. Ideas are relevant, but some are under-developed or vague, such as the unsupported statistic claiming "13% in country GDP was from movie theatres." While the prompt is generally addressed, the lack of a fully coherent personal position and reliance on unsupported assertions prevent the score from reaching a higher band. Overall, the task response is minimally adequate for this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure separating the introduction, online view, theatre view, and conclusion, matching Band 6 descriptors. Cohesive devices are used, such as "To start with," "However," and "On the other side," but their application is sometimes mechanical or imprecise. For example, referencing can be faulty, as seen in the confusing pronoun use in phrases like "both have there own benifits" and ambiguous pronoun links between sentences. Paragraphing is present and separates the distinct thematic ideas, but internal paragraph cohesion occasionally stumbles due to abrupt transitions and run-on structures. Overall, the progression of ideas is discernible, yet more precise logical connectors are required for a higher score.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic ideas about streaming platforms and cinemas, which fits the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range. There are several noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as "todays" instead of "today's", "inperson" instead of "in person", "benifits" instead of "benefits", "same" instead of "save", "setting" instead of "sitting", "trollywood", "preffer" instead of "prefer", "insider" instead of "inside", "economic" instead of "economy", "found" instead of "fond", "delivery" instead of "deliver", and "seeling" instead of "selling". Although the student attempts less common vocabulary like "revenue" and "platforms", the high density of spelling and lexical errors occasionally strains the reader and restricts the lexical score to a Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, featuring frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, tense usage, and prepositions. Examples include "some individuals thinks", "watching movies on internet", "if they went inperson to watch they have to travel", "will leads to waste of time", and "last year report says". Punctuation is also problematic, particularly with run-on sentences and missing commas. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, though communication is generally maintained. Because errors are persistent and affect a significant portion of the sentences, the response aligns best with the Band 5 descriptors for grammar.
