Some people say that in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. Others argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the contemporary era, it is widely believe by many

Individuals that streaming big picture movies in

theaters are not fascinating anymore. Though, the

individual interest have been shifted to streaming

platforms. On the other side, some individuals

belive that movies are still a better choice.

In this essay, I will discus both advantages and

disadvantages of both views with a suitable

conclusion.

To commence with, with the advent of social media

streaming platform seek a lot of attention. This is

because the young generation is highly interested

in short-form movie. Moreover, it is reliable or

time saving at the same time. To simplify it,

watching online shows helps the individual to

rematch it at as many time as possible.

Furthermore, it is time saving because they can

easily skip the part which they are least interested.

On the other side, the huge proportion of spectators

believe that cinema and theaters are non-negotiable

for people who relay on this employment. To simplify

it, theaters and movies are asociated with

other businesses such as food court, cleaning

services and furniture department.

to this, it is a bigger source of employment and

contribute heavily for economical profit of nation.

Nevertheless, cinemas put a deep impact on

individual mind from a large picture or

sound effects. This cause a deep motivation

and enrich cultural values when people discuss

it with their friend or relatives.

To wrap up, it is undeniable that online platforms

take a bigger place in the young generation

heart. But still the old cinema and

theaters are still hold their place and crucial

benefits. Therefore, I believe that they will

continue to have a valuable role in society

despite the growth of online entertainment.
